For the solution the coin was right up against a toothpick. It wasn’t at the beginning. Makes a big difference .

Correct! If the quarter blocks any toothpick arrangement of the closest roof part okay but the side runs into a connection problem joining with that in two toothpick movements some other movement will be required instead of just the third toothpick movement. Assume the correct way of the trick is neat like placed very close to the center of a roof edge.

Bottom at base move parallel to apex, left roof move parallel to bottom right piller & left piller move parallel to close that 1st and 2nd stick & result almost a trapezium. 👌

He said you can't touch the coin. He didn't say anything about the match touching the coin. I would have taken out the match closest to the coin and move the coin with the match inside the house then put the match back in it's place.
