Thanks so much for the video!! I have a question though.. does this process enable to transfer ALL the contents needed.. for example: the game itself, the dlcs, the Promod files and also the Cheat engine files? Thanks once again 😁✌️

This guide seems to work, no worries. However, you don't actually need an external drive - i've copied my "common" folder over the network into a "migrate" folder, followed the rest of this guide, and it seems to do what's been promised. Thank you, for enabling me to not download 1.2 TB again. ;)

I do have a question. Im New to steam and dont know how it works in terms of using my data on a new PC. So lets say im reinstalling everything from steam without following the steps in this video on my New PC (i have currently one game on my Laptop that Supports the steam cloud). Will it also install my old data from my laptop through the steam cloud or do i have to restart it from scratch?

Hello there, I was wondering is there a way I can download update files for steam games on my laptop and transfer them to my desktop? Like if i take my surface to work and download newest update of r6 can i transfer it to my desktop at home the new update files since that requires ram and hardware to transfer from pc to pc and not internet

Hi thx for your info. But u went to fast. I have a old windows 10 hdd laptop and bought a new windows 11 laptop but it does not have the memory for all my steam games. So how do I put each game into new ssd from old hdd then plug it into USB port on win 11 and just use the games that's on my new ssd? Thx for any info

Will this transfer all game data? The game I'm trying to move doesn't support steam cloud (Super Hexagon) but I want all my high scores and stuff saved on my new PC.

@@danielbentley1479 Yes actually, when I got my new pc everything was pretty much identical to the old one. Only difference is that you need to reinstall the games on the new pc (obviously). I didn’t have to use a usb stick or swap files, just log into the steam account on the new pc and I was set. I only had like 8 games though… Idk if this will work for every game

So basically... If i got a Big External hard drive, and installed future games onto the drive after copy pasting a main folder. I could just bring my games with me on the go on a laptop from a desktop?

Instead of an external drive if both computers are connected to the same network you can also use windows homegroups to share the steamapps/common folder and then just copy them from the shared folder to the new computers steam games folder and the download will be faster. If both computers are already in a homegroup, setting a folder up to share should take less than 30 seconds.

Couldn’t I just sign in my steam on a New PC? It would give me some kind of prompt? Couldn’t I get my saves that way?

I had the binding of Isaac on my laptop and now that i finally have a pc I logged into steam and it’s as if I never had any games on it could it be because I changed the email that would be weird I just really need help I feel like there’s no hope i really am not in the mood to spend extra money I need that’s not including the days of time

I clicked "install" and it searched for present installs, found it, and connected to it. Took like a min. to do.

Just tested it with one game. Did not work, steam downloads 215GB again 😢. It is important to also move the corresponding .acf file! These files are in the steamapps foldee. Then it works.

It doesn't work everytime for me. Copying Horizon Zero Dawn and Shadow of Mordor, the installation wants to re-download HZD and 5 GB of SoM. Hitman has 68GB, Steam wants to download 20GB, even if I've copied the whole game. Perhaps the new update which came out yesterday.

@@ironkillers7101 here's what I did: on my PC, my C drive is an SSD, my D drive is my large mechanical and my offboard is E drive, which will vary with which USB you use. I created a folder on D drive called Zteam gameZ, but call it what you like. Go to Steam Settings, Downloads, Click Steam Library Folders and add both D and E drive save folders. Go to your library, the games on your external HDD are now white instead of grey. Right click on a white game title, click Properties, then click "Move Install Folder" under the "Local Files" tab. (Once the game title is white, you could just play the game from the external drive.) From the drop down menu, select your D drive folder as where to move to and click "Move Folder" Repeat for each game you want to transfer.

i just backup everything to microsoft one drive cloud and then after i fresh installed windows 11 on my pc, i signed into my account and everything was still there!! its better that way without having to use an external ssd unless you need to replace the ssd and then use the FREE version of the mini migration tool🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
