Documentary series dealing with every aspect of special effects in movies, from low-budget make-up to multi-million-dollar computer-generated graphics. The clear presentation includes descriptions of the creation and technical problems of the effects, and interviews with effects technicians, directors, stars and other crew. Each episode deals with one topic, effect or technician (eg theme park rides, CGI, Stan Winston), concentrating on films from 1990s.

Thank you for uploading all these Movie Magic Episodes! I remember watching a few of them on T.V when they were originally released, but it's great to be able to see the full series now

No wonder the VFX for this film have aged so well. So much of it was practical, or at least were real-life elements that were composited super-well into shots.

Fun fact: The guy playing the senator in the scene at the VAB at 9:46 and 13:53 is Roger Corman, the director who gave Ron Howard his first shot as an actor in a movie. Ron Howard's mother, father, brother and daughter are also in the movie.

At 3:16, the engine bells are missing thermal blankets clearly visible in the actual pad camera footage.

How often has "Houston, we've had a problem" been miquoted? I know until watching this I've been getting it wrong.

The filmmakers changed the line to make it sound less passive even though they knew it was historically inaccurate.
