Ngl the fugitive train wreck will always be the most epic wreck ive seen.

Made a trip out to Antique Archeology years ago and saw a caboose i initially thought had come from a pick on someone that had one of those amusement park sized backyard railroads but it was a miniature of the caboose from the movie Atomic Train. Last year the episode of American Pickers aired with the caboose and I think it might have been that guy's estate the Pickers were going through because the son said they did a lot of train miniature work.

Great Northern Railway had a safety film that was mostly live action but it had two scenes with a model train running a red semaphore and crashing into the rear of another train. If the lighting had been a little brighter it would have fooled me, the modeling was that good. The film featured some older GN steam so I’m guessing it was shot in the early 50’s.

Awesome stuff! This made me want to watch the movie again. Must be 25 years since last time.

All that testing with the tankers for nothing because in the end, the tank train did not crash as intended; just the locomotives.

Just crazy how now anybody with a PC and Adobe Aftereffects or Blender can do motion tracking easy lol. In 95 you needed SGI PC's or expensive Power Mac's to do that type of stuff.

You guys need to get the video for the making of disaster in the coastline and show that in that movie was made in 1978 it was or made in 79 or it came out in 79 but it showed the scene where the runaway locomotive crashed into a bunch of stuff at a maintenance Depot

Hollywood needs to stop. Silencers are not silent and trains don't just explode into a mushroom cloud. Helicopters are not magical machines that can ignore physics in the human body cannot sustain a bus rolling on its side at 45 mph for a mile and a half. The matter of fact I'm pretty sure the bus itself is not supposed to be rolling down the freeway as if it's a tire. I have no clue why anybody would watch any of these new films coming out they are just so god-awful.

Yeah, sorry. This is a case where the miniature action didn't translate at all. Looked cheap and fake. There was a reason The Fugitive went (mostly) full scale.

Now if they could just remove Steven Segal...

I am sorry, I hate this train crash so much. You could easily tell in the movie this was done with Models it was so bad. I would've preferred if they left it out of the movie entirely.
