What a talent! To have seen DC play in an era with players like McCaw, Habana, Wilkonson, Matfield, Du Preez, Giteau, etc. Rugby is an amazing game.

I remember the 60m penalty against the boks, the reverse backhand pass against the French, the ridiculous short kick pass to Mils against England, the kick,chase,try against the Lions, the drop goals at RWC 2015 semi final and final. His awareness and game management was superb. I've never seen a more complete flyhalf. Simply the Best

That game was so intense. Can't remember the year but I remember it was just before half time, a typical titanic AB/Bok struggle, then Captain Ritchie gave Carter the ball to take the penalty which in the context of how close and intense the match was, that kick drove a dagger into the boks spirits and gave the Allblacks all the momentum it needed to get the job done. It was such a significant kick for that moment. Hostile envionment, huge pressure, and a 60metre kick to add to the drama. I'll never forget Captain Ritchie's grin as they went into the sheds with the lead. Pure psychological warefare. What a game.

I know people would arguably suggest or debate that Johnny Wilkinson was a perfect number 10 in this era..BUT there will never be another Dan Carter, or another first-five with the skill level, passion and the finesse in any aspect of the game that would come close to him. Tribute to this legend, by far my favourite All Blacks player of all time and the perfect number 10 🔝💯

Wilkinson's whole career was blasted apart by injuries. This curtailed his running game which was more prominent in 2001-2002.

As an Englishman, Wilko will always be my hero. How could he not be?? But it's foolish not to appreciate the absolute out-of-this-world legendary genius of Dan Carter! Mesmerising. Hope this movie comes out in the UK too!! (maybe after the World Cup, though ;) )

Yeah Mate, I agree. Those two stand out as number 10's. Wilko was under-appreciated in the Southern Hem. We didn't see his allround game. He was fearless on defense and often got injured because of it. (plus the fact he was not strongly built) Naturally, as a Kiwi, I pick Dan Carter but acknowledge there was little between them in skill and ability. It was really the playing style of the team around them that dictated how the 10 was perceived. I love running rugby so that's why I pick Carter over Wilko. But both are champions.

In my opinion THE BEST fly half to EVER play rugby! On his day he was untouchable (Lions tour 2005 2nd test). On his off day he was still better than most fly halves. He had an amazing running game, brilliant kicking game, an outstanding playmaker, probably not as devastating in defence as Jonny Wilkinson but he began his ABs career as a centre so still a solid 9/10 in defence. Loved watching this man play. Absolute LEGEND of the game.

@@jordanious7711 Very true. But as far as tackling goes i would still say Jonny Wilkinson had the best defence for a fly half. If Wilko was 10/10 for defence, I'd give DC a 9/10.

@@moyobademosi1092 hmm, I disagree but I think thats more just a difference of priority. DC's defensive work-rate and defensive positioning (something I rate very highly) was second to none. I saw Carter throw forwards off him after being tackled & lying in a ruck only to sprint halfway across the field just to cover a small hole in the back line or to cover a kick, etc. He literally was the glue that held our defense together. Stuff Jonny Wilkinson would never even consider doing. DC made countless amounts of try saving tackles out on the wing (THE WING!). Sure, Wilksinson was a good defender, but im not convinced he was the GODLY defensive positioner that was DC. You gotta realize, DC didnt just control our backline in attack.

@@jordanious7711 Fair enough and u make some very good points ie work rate and defensive organiser. For me, in my opinion i would still say Wilko was better. I will always remember flankers and 2nd rows running at Wilko and would be knocking these guys backwards. Not saying DC didn't do that but i just remember Wilko being more devastating. But we can both say DC was the better no.10

Surprised at how good this film was, great production team, bits with his father was very emotional and was hard to hold back tears during those scenes, we forget as spectators and fans of the game, what these men go and might go through to get to greatness, this film was a great insight to that, a perfect 10 indeed

Still can't realise that i met him 17 times with Racing 92, had a jersey signed, pics, and 4 videos of him. He's adorable, soooooo kind, and humble. When i first met him i cried so much that he did hug me and kiss me on the cheeks! Thank you dear legend for our moments! I'll treasure them forever!

The english can shout on about Jonny Wilkinson, but every stat shows that Dan was the best. He was key in the most successful run of any international rugby team. You just have to watch the 2015 world cup final to know that this guy is the goat.

Yes they are alot of good all blacks produced over the years however D.C was and is my favourite all black in this era. His I.q for reading the field is superb.

Love the comments on here about him and Wilko. Two completely different players, appreciate that this movie is about Carter not Wilkinson, but they are both brilliant in their own right-dont rumble on about whos better, its one of the biggest debates going. Wilko even appears on here, they are both such humble people and have always wished each other the best. And for the record neither of them have anything on Andy Goode.

DC was a true legend, there were a lot of other 10's who were great but never won world cups.
