The Matrix Trilogy was my first 4k disc after some years on blu-ray! Wholeheartedly agree with how it both looks and sounds. The extras on that set go into how much the first film had been changed over the years to where it was way more green than it had been in the theater.

Really like your list but here's 3 more I'd include: The Mummy Trilogy, The Men in Black Trilogy, and The Cornetto Trilogy (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, & The World's End )

I agree with LOTR 4K. Despite some issues (i.e. DNR, smoothing, etc.), I think the new color grading and HDR is a HUGE improvement over the Blu Rays! For example, the snow in Fellowship actually looks white instead of green, and dark sequences such as Moria and Helms Deep greatly benefit from the HDR. So I guess what I am saying is that despite the problems, I think the 4K still look better than the Blu Rays.

Back in January Best buy had the Indiana Jones 4Ks on sale individually, I bought the 4 movie box set for $60

Already have all of the ones mentioned in the video, but I also would have included The Karate Kid and X-Men trilogies. the third film in each of those might be weak compared to the first two, although in my experience they are still quite enjoyable.

Other than BTTF (being the best trilogy since 1885), i agree that the newest Apes trilogy is epic. So rewatchable! Just watched them all again in anticipation of Kingdom. Together strong...this is heavy. 🦧🦧

Here's one you may not have even seen??? The Dragon Tattoo Trilogy!! It may not qualify because they're Swedish (I think) dubbed films, but I love them and think they'd make a crazy good 4K set!! I'm definitely going to add probably 3 of your picks to my Christmas list...LotR, Dark Knight, and Back to the Future. Great list!! Thanks!!! ~Frank

I recommend the hobbit, hellraiser quartet (skip either 3 or 4), Conan chronicles (watch the barbarian twice), and evil dead 1, 2, & army of darkness custom box set.

I would like to see Amicus films bringing out a 4k boxset of their lesser titles, ie the mind of Mr Soames, Danger Route 1967 etc.

Great list of recommendations. I own all of them with the exception of Back to the Future, which I have the Blu-Ray box set. Haven't found the right price to make me upgrade just yet. The others on the list I also owned on bluray prior to upgrading them to 4k.

A lot of the good ones here already in the vid, and I have most of them. I’d add the Three Flavours Cornetto Trilogy (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, At World’s End), and for the more thoughtful and Artsy side I’d add Krzytof Kieslowski’s Three Colors (Blue, White, Red). I’d also throw in the X-Men Beginnings Trilogy (First Class, Days of Future Past, and Apocalypse). And I’d love to see Criterion upgrade the Before Trilogy (Before Sunrise, Before Sunset, Before Midnight) from standard blu to 4K.

Didn't have Spider-Man and BTTF on 4K yet, so ordered them. Didn't use the link, because Dutch here. I am waiting for the Indiana Jones 5-movie boxset to go 4K on those. I wonder why it takes so long for that boxset to release.

Why do all collectors only show blockbusters? What about great trilogies like Three Colors and The Apu Trilogy? Watch quality movies not just mainstream.

I think the alien trilogy is the best trilogy ever (obviously I think alien 3 is extremely underrated) i hope we get a great 4k of alien 3 at some point (and a 4k of aliens with the original color timing and less DNR bullsh*t)

I'm thinking the Cornetto Trilogy (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The World's End), and looking forward to future 4K BOX SET releases of: The Girl Trilogy (world cinema versions - Dragon Tattoo, Played with Fire, Kicked the Hornet's Nest); BLOMKAMP3 Trilogy (Chappie, District 9, Elysium); The Infernal Affairs Trilogy; The Man with No Name Trilogy (Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly); The Vengeance Trilogy (Lady Vengeance, Oldboy, Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance), to name a few...

The Hobbit trilogy looks and sounds fantastic. I did pick up the Matrix quadrilogy recently but I never intend to watch the 4th one. It's such a bad movie that the quadrilogy was half the price of the trilogy set lol

That's odd, my LOTR 4k trilogy box set didn't come with any special features. I was pretty disappointed. Maybe MovieGuy has a different version?
