Synopsis: Sasha is a young vampire with a serious problem: she's too sensitive to kill! When her exasperated parents cut off her blood supply, Sasha's life is in jeopardy. Luckily, she meets Paul, a lonely teenager with suicidal tendencies who is willing to give his life to save hers. But their friendly agreement soon becomes a nocturnal quest to fulfill Paul's last wishes before day breaks.

Long titles have been a thing in music for decades. For example: The Beatles - "Everybody’s Got Something To Hide Except For Me And My Monkey", Pink Floyd - "Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave Grooving With a Pict", Pearl Jam - "Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town", and of course most mid-2000s emo like Fall Out Boy and early Panic, such as "Lying Is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off" or "There's A Good Reason These Tables Are Numbered, Honey, You Just Haven't Thought Of It Yet". I suspect (no real evidence here) that the long names in anime might have been influenced by that fad in particular somehow.

This is basically what I thought after watching Shiki. All that craziness and fear was just unnecessary. There are absolutely plenty of people who would be totally willing to donate or sell some blood for the children of the night!

I guess it makes more sense in French, because there's a single word for a suicidal person. In English, it's two words, so it makes the title just a little bit awkward.

I volunteer at the Phoenix Film Festival and saw this in April- there were only two screenings during the festival, but both sold out. It was one of the best films at the festival (and I saw 30+ films during the festival), and everyone I spoke to who had seen it absolutely loved it. It's a lot more comedic than the trailer lets on, to the point where the trailer is borderline misleading. I cannot recommend this film enough, though; I could see it easily becoming a cult favorite.

Interesting concept. We have seen Vampire movies and shows where the Vamps set up blood banks to sustain themselves. Perhaps a new idea is Vampires setting up a suicide help line, but they don't help save you. They help you die.

This looks amazing!! I need to show this to my husband so we can set up a double feature date night with "Lisa Frankenstein"! These movies coming out now are reminiscent of that time in the 80s when "My Boyfriend's Back," "My Best Friend is a Vampire," and "Teen Wolf" were coming out! Loving this!
