When the rescue of a kidnapped CIA operative leads to the discovery of a deadly terrorist plot against the U.S., a team of SEALs is dispatched on a worldwide manhunt. As the valiant men of Bandito Platoon race to stop a coordinated attack that could kill and wound thousands of American civilians, they must balance their commitment to country, team and their families back home.
'Act of Valor' uses active duty U.S. Navy Seals as actors. The characters they play are fictional, but the weapons and tactics used are real.

This movie inspired me. I might not even go into the military. But the last words of the movie have a strong message. I guess its too bad that I found the Tecumseh poem through a movie and not in my own researches. But the way it was said, and the context of it, literally changed my life. I was always looking for meaning in life and what my purpose is. "Seek to make your life long and its purpose in the service of your people.". I will not die with regrets. I will live my life in such a way that I can change the world for the better and I WILL do just that. I really dont give a shit what some people think about me getting advice from a movie/poem, but it changed my life and I will sacrifice everything, whether it be comfort or love so that I can serve society in an important way. I dont care about day to day happiness, or whats happening right this moment, I only care about making a positive impact on the world. So yeah, call this movie propaganda and all that shit, I dont buy it. It was a message to all people from all walks of life to sacrifice something for your people, and to not be motivated by materialistic greed and power.

I can see we have a lot of people here criticizing this movie... 1. "This film is a recruiting ad" (Propaganda) Well this isn't, it's mean to show the public what the military does and how they operate. 2" Other special forces are better than the SEALS" Every branch and every special force has their own advantages and disadvantages, so they cannot be compared. 3." The people in the U.S. are dumb and too patriotic" I am not American, but i have lived here most of my life and I love and support this country. Being patriotic doesn't mean to follow your government blindly. It means you love and support your country, and that is exactly what everyone should do.

To whoever is reading this and thinking whether to download it or not. Let me tell you something, the acting was somewhat lacking skills, but the combat scenes and the plot were magnificent. I personally stood up and saluted this movie when it finished. Definitely, one of the greatest realistic actions movies ever produced.

This is an incredible, well made movie. One of the best especially in its day. Paying heed to some of the greatest warriors in the world today. It is about the best; principle; good against evil. A real story. If you don't like it, think often about where your soul is. A plus ++.

call of duty is propaganda. the US government gives money to people who portray the military in a positive light. if you watched the transformer movies, you might have noticed military characters, many films that include the military actually get support because the military sees the value in supporting it. here is a little insight, anything that is a large budget project has some amount of propaganda behind it. the price on the thoughts in your head is high, and there are many people willing to pay the price to influence your thoughts. one other interesting thing, video games and movies have to pay the gun manufacturers in order to include the firearms in there movies and games, with the contract the weapons developers require the gun to preform on a satisfactory level in the games. when you buy call of duty you are helping to fund the national arms market.

"terrible acting" " terrible acting" that's all I hear about this movie, first of all you probably couldn't do better, let alone survive what the "actors" have been through. they are active duty navy seals and risk their lives to protect you arrogant asses. they've been through 100 times what any normal person goes through. they protect America and are the best in the world at what they do.

So when they’re asked to make a movie about what they do for a living, “performing” is the last thing on their minds. People will say a lot of things, but still this is the best movie I have ever seen. This movie is not just a show where you see tactical stuffs and the wars, gun fights but also it involves you with a few deep emotions. Every time when I go through troubles or going for a big day of my life I rewatch this movie and get the thrill. I thought the movie was well done and it reminded me of how thankful I am for what all branches of our military do to protect us and our freedom. I have to believe that most people who have never been in or closely exposed to the military have a clue what combat is really like for our servicemen and women. If this is any representation of a special forces team in the US military, they are bad ass. Unfortunately, they are also at great risk since they can be sent on very dangerous missions. The military is just doing their jobs and don't choose the conflicts we get into. Anyone who "dogs" them can go to hell as far as I'm concerned. Don't judge a man unless you've walked in their shoes. Showing a woman crying hysterically, etc. is just one reality of military deployment!

i have a cousin thats in the Navy (girl), a cousin thats in the Army, a best friend thats in the Army, a step-cousin thats a Marine, another best friend thats a Marine Veteran (and her boyfriend's a Veteran as well), and my dad's a Veteran of the Air Force and my Grandpa (my moms dad) is a Veteran of the Air Force as well also i have a friend thats a Army Vereran and was Honorably Discharged because he got shot in the head by a sniper and LIVED! (Staff Sgt. Jarod Behee if you wanna look him up) the Military is a VERY big part of my life, no matter what part it is

I saw this movie in theaters in 2012 or 2011 when I was 12. It was pretty epic. The scene I remember the most and I think it's the one that everyone remembers is when the dude dives onto the grenade to contain the blast and protect his conrad's. I hate to have seen him died but he risked it for the survival of his teammates.

They risked there lives and some gave there's so that you can be safe were ever you live in what ever country, someone has put on a Uniform and severed, so you and your family can be safe at night and play Battlefield and Call of Duty on your XBOX.

I don't think there will ever be a better movie about the SEALs. I love this movie! Rorke Denver's book Damn Few (the LT in the movie) is well worth reading.

may i ask how this goes conform with the secrecy of their identities? a german special operator would never ever show his face. when these guys are active duty seals, like it's said in the trailer... the good luck keeping their identities... or am i wrong?

We do NOT hide from danger but if all of the nation know out real identitys we would get our family's kidnaped and held hostage for info the movie would change the names and identitys and tho use are most absulatly NOT one of us they are actors trained to work like us confusing I know (the name I'm on my sis profile) :)

Actually I sleep soundly because of a lock on the door, a gun, and neighbors I trust. The only thing that gives me concern is the government's "rough men standing ready in the night."
