Based on this trailer, Bando was at a vacation home on a tropical island, but when this crisis happens, none of the locals bother to help the foreign musician and bail, so he's the only one left on the island and then all this crazy stuff happens

It would appear that Brando has been in the recording studio for a considerably long time working on new material. When he leaves the studio and goes back into civilization, the world has changed, and he soon discovers that it has changed, not necessarily for the better.
