Bruce blames God for his failures but when receiving God's powers, he turns out to be a selfish hypocrite using his powers for his own gain and ignoring the responsibility of God. Well deep down he's a good guy who was just at his lowest in his life who admits his mistake and repented. One of the things i like about movies is character growth.

Thats a short synopsis of the movie! He actually attempts to be a good and just god who answers all prayer. That and then his selfish attempt to make a woman that loves him stay with him because he has been a ahole is the meat and potatoes of the movie! Just nitpicking though. Your rundown is probably literally what the DVD case said on the back lol

I remember Morgan Freeman being a controversial pick for God.... but damn does he nail it. I have a hard time thinking of anyone else that could have pulled it off. Anyone else would be too serious for comedy or too silly to take seriously. Morgan Freeman just nails that narrow range between being easy to take seriously but still able to get humour through.

Thankfully this movie is a comedy about learning life lessons and not a reality drama that tries to depict what would *actually* happen if someone got these powers... well someone smart i guess lol, like i feel like for me these powers would so quickly get out of hand, I'd be teleporting around the universe, gaining all knowledge that exists and shit, also make humanity a type 1 civilization, end all wars and hunger, use your powers to figure out the truth of how everything works and then amass even more power until omnipotence, then challenge and defeat God who gave you your powers so you can take his place... but i feel like all that wouldn't be in the spirit of the movie lol.

Rather than take on the movie's message of "Be the miracle", you instead left the cinema wishing that God would give you his powers, so that you too could cause spontaneous orgasms, get a fancy car, and walk on water. (Or rule the world, at least.) The movie tries to show the downsides of the powers, but most of them are just caused by Bruce's stupidity, so you're left with a movie that just shows how awesome it would be to be God.

I always loved the free will thing. Since it's not really a rule. Later in the movie Bruce tried to manipulate the free will of someone only to fail, and if he really did get all of gods powers that simply means that god never had the ability to mess with our free will. Also how he just said that the beauty of free will comes from the simple fact that you can ask why you cant mess with it.

It's called the dark ages because we don't have much written documents from that time period. Thus historians are in the "dark" concerning much of what happened during 8th to 12th century.

@@wre6414 As I said, the term "dark ages" was coined to refer to the period of 8th - 12th century because historians were in the dark on what happened during that timeframe due to lack of surviving records. Humanity has continued to go on during dark ages as it has gone during its preceding centuries. As for atrocities, almost all centuries had them, however the atrocities allocated to dark ages especially under youtube comments are often overblown or completely false upon fact checking so this has to be done in a case to case basis. Anyways, 20th century is by far considered the most brutal century and we may probably see far greater atrocities this century.

may they rip. that's why I dont adopt or pet a cat. I wouldnt stand the fact that they have a shorter lifespan than us humans and they will eventually die and I will see that moment. I only feed stray cats, pour some catfood each night into their plates fill their bowls with some water and stuff like that.
