@@JonJon-wf5yj Even if what you say is true, there are so many aspects to patent law which i think is outdated and to some extant even hindering progress. Take for example keeping the technological edge in opposition to China. They do not care about patents so much or do they now? So loosening the laws and make things easier accessable, less constrictive i think is the way to adapt to that. Sure systems of control which have been built on the patent system need to change then too. Now besides that, i always found it rather horrible to have plants geneticly developed in a way that they can't reproduce anymore, that truelly is against nature and i think can bite us in the back with not much imagination. I am also not a fan of plants which produce their own pesticides and herbecides in themselves as that may lead to various health issues on consumption. The way of making plants resistant against roundup and therefor anything else dieing is also in many ways not the best solution as so called superweeds (those which nevertheless are resistant against roundup) will spread and can not get rid of anymore. There are areas in the USA full of such resistant plant wich now are THE problem as no crops will grow there anymore. On yet another note, Monsanto which created Agent Orange and other nice things, their orignal owners sold their shares and are pretty much in the clear which makes me furious as these in my opinion have a lot of blood on their hands, but hey thats capitalism for you, the ways how the wealthy obfuscate responsabilites. To this day in Vietnam people are being born with deformaties as a sideeffect of Agent Orange. Did the company, the people involved of creating and producing, the USA or its citizen make amends?
