Yeah, I was really disappointed when this scene, which (for me) was so important and prominent in the book, was cut short in the movie. Then I watched the deleted scenes as I was sure that they at least would add a longer conversation there. When the scene came when Harry entered the office, I was soo excited... but it lasted like what... a few seconds and Dumbledore saying „Come in“?! Wow. I couldn‘t believe it. That was really the reason why I disliked the 5th film - especially after in GoF, they shortened the scene at the end with Dumbledore and Harry, too. And then in HBP, they again did not show Dumbledore at the Dursleys or in the Broomcupboard. These were really scenes I looked forward to as they would have shown a bit more of their relationship. But that‘s just my opinion. I know that they cannot adapt everything from the books in the movies and they had to choose. It‘s just that I would have chosen differently or at least would have added it as extended edition.

This really explains what I've been trying to say to every Dumbledore basher out there, he is indeed flawed and he did so many wrong things but cares for Harry. He really does. Did he do right by him? Maybe not, but he thought he did and maybe that doesnt matter to Harry but it matters when we look at what kind of man he was. I hate the fact that so many in this fandom are throwing Dumbledore under the buss for caring about Harry but glorify Snape for.. Well its debatable, but love for Lily. Both men did wrong because of love, but if you ask me Dumbledore at least tried to be good meanwhile Snape just went around pitying himself because he was friendzoned and because James grew up when he couldnt.

I think the most important conversation is when Hagrid told Harry he was a wizard.

Most important conversating in Harry Potter imo happens in HBP - when Dumbledore makes Harry realise what the prophecy actually is - it's not something that will Harry has to fulfill because the prophecy simply must true, but rather because it stems from Harry's character. It re-contextualises the prophecy, and is easily the most memorable/impactful conversation in the series.
@MartinsGarage974 жыл бұрын
Omg, I was just thinking about this, because so much information is given and why Dumbledore did what he did. I still think they could have been better in the movies.

I have to say that ever since I've found your channel, I have found your voice very charistmatic and relaxing. It's perfect for explaining stuff like this in different fandoms. Thank you for making these videos!

It’s funny I never see anyone talking about this conversation it’s like everyone forgot it ever happened even though it’s one of if not the most important scenes in the book and one of my favorites. I love how she chose to revel the prophecy

I really cried when I'm reading this,it shows how much harry has suffered and the loss of sirius, it tells how much he cared for him and his loss had affected him deeply😭😭

I agree so much. Everytime I reread the books, I read this conversation for 5-6 times. I absolutely love it.

Excellent video. This is the only HP related channel I am subscribed to and the only channel that I consistently and purposefully watch videos with identical subject matter to something I have watched recently from another creator. I do this because I know your videos will have information and insight that is unique and very well throughout and that sir is the biggest content I can give to any content creator. 👍

The conversation is a great scene in the book! The exposition really makes sense, but I do feel it was a little too drawn out. But it was a great scene altogether! Great video again, Morgan, and Happy New Year!
@mikedirado42704 жыл бұрын
Oh I disagree. It wasn’t drawn out. This needed to happen. I think it was perfect. I respect your opinion. But this was my favorite chapter in the whole series. Harry should yell and rage.

Mike DiRado I respect the fact that you love it. In fact, after watching this video, I got out the book and reread the chapter in 15 minutes. I totally forgot how much I loved it, and I came to appreciate it so much more!

I am so glad I found your channel...Your explanations are so helpful! Sadly I never got the opportunity to read the books and starting watching the movies when they first came out, but literally just finished watching the series in the last month or so...and now have been watching all of them over and over, but as we all know the movies don't come close to the books and I was always so confused.. I really need to read these books now!

I love this channel and I absolutely love this video. This video explains everything, you make all the important things serious. There were parts of the book that I didn't get, like the forbidden forest and this even. I thought I understood it but then you came and explained everything I get it all now. Even in your video's explaining peoples life, it's like reading the story from the personal point of view and not just Harry Potter's. I love Harry Potter with my whole heart. Harry Potter is my past, present, and future and I'm in love with it and now your here and explain everything you are like the best teacher I've ever had. You make me cry, laugh, love, and learn. I have learned more than any of my teachers combined in these videos. They make me want more, more knowledge. These videos turn me into a better person. Seeing you being your true authentic self and loving all these fandoms, I can learn a lot from you. All I have to say is Thank you. Thank you so much you are half of the Harry Potter community and I'm forever grateful for your Chanel. - Brooklynn

My favorite part of the conversation was when Dumbledore said to Harry that if he was to be attacked by Harry, he would like to have thoroughly earned it. And then when Harry starts looking for more things to destroy Dumbledore says keep doing it oh, I have too many possessions anyway. Always thought that was pretty funny

I want to add one more thing. It’s my favorite because Harry snapped. Which I am amazed it took this long. I’m happy he yelled. And broke stuff. After all this. Harry didn’t pick this. Honesty would have been better.
