FAQ: (Questions that are asked to me OFTEN, will answer here)
Q: Why is a small portion of the video completely muted?
A: Copyright reasons. Sometimes I get hit with copyright claims AFTER the video has already been posted, my only choice is to refute the claim but if KZfaq denies it, I have to either take down the video or mute the small portion they are claiming. If the video has been up for a while, it is much easier for me to mute this small portion in the YT studio and then unmute it months later after people aren't watching the video as much.
Q: Why is the movie not as loud as I want it to be, why can't you show more of it uncut?
A: Copyright reasons. Notice a pattern here? Most of your questions will likely be answered with some type of copyright related reason.
Q: Why is the movie footage flipped?
A: Again, copyright reasons. I am watching the movie the normal way, it is only flipped for the video.

When katniss said ‘then you should’ve saved peeta’ she meant that if you want someone to do propaganda and be a leader then they should’ve saved peeta because he was supposed to be the one who was better at words and talking to people, and katniss struggles with it. Not that she only cares about him so she won’t do it

The sad part is that in the 1st movie Peeta said he didn't want then to change him, and by the 3rd movie that's exactly what they did.

this movie is great bc it's more psychological rather than just constant action. it helps with the world building and intensifying the story for the finale

I was not expecting the level of importance that messaging, marketing, psychology, and shaping public image was going to play in all these movies. As someone who went to college with a bunch of Public Relations and Marketing majors, I think that aspect is what makes this series so much more interesting to me than I was expecting. I'd also add that I had a similar moment as you in this movie. There was a point while watching this movie where I thought to myself, "Man ... I'm legitimately invested in what is happening." I never would have believed that a movie adaptation of a Young Adult, Dystopian Future book series would have sucked me in to that degree.

My brother pushed me to read the series even though I sincerely didn’t want to because I thought that it was like a Twilight series, but boy was I wrong. The books are brutal. Probably one of the best books I’ve ever read. I can’t even say that I’ll read them again because I don’t know if I can go through that again, but will recommend to everyone.

It’s not shown that well in the movie but the hospital was already destroyed before they shot down the bombers (there were just subtle clues in the dialogue, in the books it is said outright). Can’t wait for the last reaction, I’m sure you’ll like it!

All of the characters, and the victors in particular, are so incredibly traumatised in so many ways. Finnick's been forced into prostitution immediately after his victory when he was 14. And since he's such a beautiful person, and was a beautiful child, he was very popular. Finnick ended up getting information from his abusers. He mentions all of that in his speech after the bombing, but I think very little of it made it into the movie. Just that one line about being given away as rewards. Almost all the victors have been forced into prostitution. Joanna is one of the few who doesn't have anyone the capitol can use to coerce her into behaving, and Hamitch won by using the limits of the arena so they killed everyone he cared about as punishment. That does mean that the both of them had nothing to threaten them into obedience. The books go into more detail about all of this, but unless I remember wrong the movies don't really mention it except one line where Joanna says she has no one left to threaten, and Finnick's line in his speech. There is so much trauma on all sides. Katniss has a wonderful cocktail of so much stuff. From almost starving to death, losing her father, being forced into the role of an adult when her mother became catatonic, the yearly reaping of herself or her peers and family and friends, having to watch her peers die on tv, being reaped herself, the whole hunger games and being made to celebrate and watch it, being reaped again, etc etc etc. She's completely overwhelmed with trauma. Gale is pretty uncomprehending about her trauma, and he even is angry at her for kissing Peeta to stay alive. He seems to resent her for being forced into it to survive and that lack of understanding makes him at best not great. He also doesn't want to understand that torture (that Peeta pretty clearly is experiencing) and threats to the people Peeta loves is going to make Peeta comply. Gale likes to think he'd let himself and others die first, but he isn't in that situation, and has never been in that situation, so he has no idea what he would or wouldn't do. Everyone has a breaking point, and it doesn't make someone a coward or weak if they've been tortured and threatened into submission. Gale's refusal to see that is infuriating. I have some other reasons to not like him, but those are spoilers from the next movie.

I’d also like to add that the subtle details when President Snow is talking about how “all imagery of the Mockingjay will now be seen as treason” and as he’s saying the rest of his speech you can see the camera pan over to his granddaughter as she slowly unbraids her hair. Because earlier on she had started braiding her hair just like Katniss and when her grandpa asked her, “when did you start wearing your hair like that darling?” she innocently said, “oh well everyone at school wears it like this now grandpa”. She was scared that her grandpa would kill her basically if she continued to take a likeness to Katniss.

17:16 part of peeta’s torture was actually that they tortured two people he knew in front of him. The thing is, they were both an avox and couldn’t speak, so they asked them questions and when they obviously couldn’t answer they tortured them brutally in front of Peeta and Joanna

I loved your reaction! I hated Gale through all the movies not gonna lie, but in this one when he said he would never do and say what Peeta did I was so mad because he doesn’t know that, you never know what you would do until you’ve been tortured in the same way so it’s wrong to pass judgment when you’ve not been in that position and what peeta went through was horrific.

I 100% agree. Another reason I never liked Gale is because he always treats Katniss like a prize or something to compete for. Like in the next movie, when he says something to Peeta along the lines of "Well of course she'll love you, I can't compete with what you two share from that first game," and he says that he should've volunteered for those games; not because of genuinely caring about Katniss but because he cares that he's "losing." He also goes for guilt a lot, like in this movie when he tells her he can only get her attention when he's in pain. He just comes across as such a butthurt little baby to me. Peeta never does either of those things to Katniss (with the exception of the beginning of the second movie when he pulled a little bit of guilt, which he sincerely apologized for). Peeta feels like a genuinely nice guy, whereas Gale feels like a self-purported "nice guy."

For Finnick everyone being dead is definitely better than his reality. So that first line of dialogue for him is really emotional and very much telling of his character. . . . . TRIGGER ⚠️ WARNING Something they only give you a glimpse of in this movie is his backstory of how President Snow sold him into s*x slavery after he won his games at 14. He was desirable to disgusting pieces of trash in the Capitol. He was given the ultimatum of, “do as you’re told or we will kill your whole family”. As a 14 year old it’s terrifying and he was just a defenseless child.. So he did as he was told for multiple years. The disgusting abusers that used him often wanted to make themselves feel better by giving him money and throwing gifts at him.. but he was so numb that he didn’t care about any of that.. instead he thought a better move would be to get in their heads and ask them for their secrets as payment. That’s why he told Katniss what he did in catching fire during the tribute parade too.

I STILL think that this movie should've ended with Boggs nailing Peeta over the head with the tray and left everything after that for Part Two, so it would open with Katniss in the infirmary.
@lydiawulanastri6454
@lydiawulanastri6454 2 жыл бұрын
I feel like they were planning to do that because Coin's last speech ties directly to the first mission in Part Two, but maybe while editing they felt this cut was more fitting for the threaticality, and the clarity of what happened with Peeta/why he was like that for the audience before they leave than them having to wait another year to know

17:25 “They’re both really good dudes.” Yeah…I gotta disagree with you there, buddy. One of them IS better for Katniss and that person is most certainly not Gale. I absolutely despise him. He is emotionally manipulative, he shows zero respect or empathy for the unimaginable trauma Peeta and Katniss have gone through TWICE and he is completely phony and selfish. I find Gale Hawthorne to be a narcissist and a borderline sociopath. I loathe him for one more particular reason, but I’ll not mention that now since I’m not sure if you have watched the final film yet. Clearly I am firmly team Peeta.

I think the same reason most reactors can't understand the rebels' anger at Peeta is the same reason the rebels are mad at Peeta- perspective. Both sides are short sighted about the others' struggle. Human mind is weak and limited. The rebels lost their kids and lives- they don't have a future of living a normal life kinda hope; they live and survive only to fight and win back their freedom- that;s their righteous act. Vengeance, righteousness, and freedom. They are willing to sacrifice their lives (military + life experiences) and believe they would never sell themselves out to protect themselves (ie- Peeta); they would not undermine their team movement for self. The district survivors have had to survive and live because that's the only future they imagined- one with the Capitol's influence- so they have to work with that, and think of self (or self's family only).
