@averytiredhuman26482 жыл бұрын
That was actually a smart idea, sure it was risky of stabbing yourself ofc because you may have died but in a public place like that it would be hard to see if he actually stabbed her or not so when people back up in a perfect circle where everyone can clearly see the man with the knife in his hand and the girl who had been stabbed It's a perfect option to save yourself, get revenge on the people he had killed/kidnapped and save the next person that he might've gotten his hands-on. There are moments when he speaks that are hella unsettling as an audience, knowing that none of what he is saying is being heard by the main character. They're young men who got enlisted to the military who are out on a short break, so they probably thought they did some justice/good deed, unware of what's actually happening.

Seriously. A woman is out there with a knife and fearing a man trying to come near her. Just because he claims he's her brother or someone she knows, they can't just take his word. Especially if they get involved, they need to call authorities and get the situation properly handled. The killer was a moron for even attempting to chase her through a crowded public area. He would have been exposed if not for how terribly written the bystanders were. Ideally, the woman should have done a better job of communicating her fears. I doubt she needed to even keep the knife once she reached the busy area. People should realize how terrified she is even if she can't speak to them and they wouldn't let her leave with this man who's approaching her. I've seen videos and heard stories of bystanders who wouldn't let men get drunk women or scared women to leave with them. Not until the man showed some proof he was their friend or family member, and sometimes just allowing the woman to get an uber or lyft back.

@@YelloLibra83 I'm guessing the boy didn't survive either
@esverker70182 жыл бұрын
@@elithluxe7568 No he didn't. It happened in '91 and I'm still furious. It was extra horrible because the boy was only 14 so an adult man claiming to be his lover should've been enough of a red flag. But the cops were homophobic shitbags who thought that's how homosexuality worked. Dahmer had drilled a fucking hole in his skull and injected hydrochloric acid. He was naked, bleeding from his groin, and was insensate from drugs (and acid). But the cops decided he wasn't that injured. The three girls who found him and called 911 pleaded with the officers and they told the girls to "shut the hell up". When the fire department showed up and expressed concern, the police dismissed them. The cops handed him over, listed it as a domestic dispute between homosexuals (amid other snide homophobic shit) and told Dahmer to "take good care of him". If they had bothered to ID Dahmer they'd see he was a registered sex offender. The boy was killed later that day by more acid injected to the brain, and dismembered. The two cops were fired, but later given back their jobs! With $50,000 back pay each! One of the cops "served" another 30 years and was elected president of the Milwaukee police union. Americas finest!

That actually happened in real life too. A teenage victim of Jeffrey Dahmer managed to escape after getting a huge head wound that was apparently a hole in his head. He managed to get to a police officer for help but because he couldn’t speak English (he was an immigrant, I think) and was obviously not all lucid by then when Jeffrey caught up to them, the murderer convinced the police officer that this was a lovers spat. The police officer sent the kid off with Jeffrey even as he begged for help. It didn’t even cross his mind that the age gap might signify that something is wrong. Apparently, he even insulted them with a derogatory term for gay and washed his hands of the whole thing. The kid was then murdered. The police officer recently retired after having been promoted to president of the police union. The boy was 14 years old and his name was Konerak Sinthasomphone. The officer’s name was John Balcerzak.

I’m watching the whole thing and I can’t help but keep thinking that this seems like too much trouble for the killer, who made multiple moves to put himself in jeopardy, when he could’ve given up and went after easier prey, given that it’s pretty clear at this point he’s not getting any luck and is only getting himself hurt. Him going to her house instead of lurking in the alleyway in a van is such a huge change in his tactic and he’d risk leaving behind so much evidence doesn’t make any sense to me. And also the effing police who didn’t even listen to her and lit carried her to the killer made me so mad but I have to give props it’s not uncommon for people, even police officers and emergency workers, to miss signs of distress when they come from people who are not neurotypical or can’t express themselves very clearly.

@wonderbu5982 жыл бұрын
Obviously, he liked the challenge and wouldn't give up till he got his hand on the prey he had his eye on. It wasn't just killing to silence the victims, but he got satisfaction from doing the act. He couldn't even stand it if his victim committed suicide, thus the golden opportunity for the girl to save herself and the girl in the alley, i.e. she put a knife on her neck to threaten him. In summary, he wasn't stupid but he was not normal, hence you can't use a normal person's logic to make sense this guy's next action. The girl just needed to know what he most desired and used it to make her escape.

It's not believable that the police would let the killer leave before watching the security footage after a violent incident inside of a police station. It's also not believable that the man looking for his sister would just take a proven killer's word at face value in the middle of a murder attempt.
@sws2122 жыл бұрын
The man was desperate to find his sister, it's no more unbelievable than a lot of other movies where the killer does something similar when the good guy has him in a corner. The cop thing might be a cultural thing, Korean cops are always very incompetent in these type of movies.
@laeioun2 жыл бұрын
@@sws212 He was desperate to find his sister but he also had the only real threat to her right in front of him. Better to focus on capturing him than expect him to tell the truth. @AquaSventi2 жыл бұрын
@@laeioun He might have lost all reason after finding out his only family got captured by a serial killer. People are prone to making rash decisions in situations like this. Plus we haven't watched the whole movie, the serial killer might have threatened him by saying his sister is critically injured and will die in a few moments. In a case like that, I would've chosen my family too(who I would've been searching for hours at that point) rather than a random stranger as heartless as that sounds.
