One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is in the top 20 IMDB rated films of all time and is the only few titles in the top 20 that hasn't had a new 4k scan yet. It's a classic film and by far one of Jack Nicholson's best performance. This film needs way more recognition for a new 4k scan!

Great subject of discussion. Some titles I will include are ; K2: The Ultimate High, Blood Beach, The Keep are just of the few titles that I’m still waiting for a Blu-ray or 4K release that has never been transferred since VHS.

Tales from the Crypt, remastered in HD on blu ray would be incredible. If it were released in 4K, a miracle occurred!

I definitely want pre-2002 Simpsons for Blu. I’d love to see them be newly remastered from the original film elements, rather than just upscaled from the video tape masters like they are on Disney+ because a show as big as The Simpsons should get the royal treatment.

As an Australian, I would love to see Yahoo Serious' Young Einstein and Reckless Kelly get Blu-ray releases. Bicentennial Man should be on Blu-ray and I definitely agree about The Abyss, True Lies and Peter Jackson's early films. Many older TV shows are fine only being on DVD, but M*A*S*H deserves a Blu-ray boxset with audio options that drop the laugh track...

The Expanse only had the first four seasons on blu-ray, with no word on the last two. These would look great on 4K.

Babylon 5 will probably never happen, because they lost the computer CGI files and would have to recreate the effects from scratch, but I'd love to see a Blu-ray or 4k release of the entire series. And, it was supposedly shot in widescreen, so it would be a whole new experience.

Yeah Arrow should really do the Peter Jackson first films in 4K. I can't see Vinegar Syndrome doing it (Too big)

Some of the movies I'd love to see on Blu-Ray and/or 4K are: The 13Th Warrior (Antonio Banderas), The Alamo (1960 John Wayne), Down Periscope, Gleaming The Cube (Christian Slater), and Shoot To Kill (1988 Sidney Poitier). I'm a big John Wayne fan and I picked up the Laser Disc version of The Alamo (Director's Cut) but only the Theatrical Cut has ever been released on DVD. I've been waiting forever for The Alamo (Director's Cut) on Blu-Ray. Would love to see Kino Lorber or Criterion do it. It's my favorite Wayne film. Also, The Abyss is one I would love on 4K. True Lies also, but not nearly as much as The Abyss.

If we are including Blu Ray and 4K 2024 is the 70th anniversary of the original Godzilla - Getting properly upgraded restorations of that catalog on 4K or even traditional blu ray sourced from top tier masters would be a huge blessing 2024 is also the 40th anniversary of the original Dragon Ball Manga. I would LOVE to see Crunchyroll re-visit the entire catalog of Dragon Ball anime and do a proper restoration and remaster of ALL of it and put it all on Blu Ray, from beginning to end as consistent, high quality sets.

Some things (especially TV) are only worthy of DVD. I'm getting the entire TV series ELEMENTARY in DVD only. I like it because I think it's the BEST interpretation of SHERLOCK HOLMES - much better than the Benedict Cumberbatch version.

Dragonslayer and Young Sherlock Holmes finally got an upgrade, unfortunately YSH only got a Blu-Ray and not a 4k. Some other films that I would like to see either on Blu-Ray or 4k in addition to 'After Hours,' 'Splash' and 'Bugsy' are 'Star 80' with a great performance by Eric Roberts 'The Notorious Betty Page' starring the beautiful Gretchen Mol, 'Narc' which stars Jason Patrick and the late great Ray Liotta, and 'All of Me' with Steve Martin, who is hilarious it. A couple of older films I would like to see upgraded are the originals of both 'Of Mice and Men' (1939) and 'Sleuth' (1972) as well as 'The Devil and Daniel Webster' and David Lean's 'Oliver Twist.

I'd liked to see craig denney's 1976 movie The Astrologer released on Blu-ray.

A very US-centric discussion with very middle of the road films discussed. There are so many excellent films that haven’t even had a dvd release, yet, but we get 4K discs of films we’ve already bought loads of times. I’d like to see releases for films that I’ve never seen or maybe on tv years ago or maybe at the cinema and not since.

Only title I can think of that is only on one form of physical media is Godzilla 1985

Great video! Great list! My top 5 not in your list are: 1. Captain Blood (1935) - classic swashbuckling pirate adventure featuring the original team up and star-making performances by Errol Flynn and Olivia de Havilland, a film by the director of Casablanca, Michael Curtiz. 2. The Spanish Apartment (2002) - this is the first film to give me the travel bug and inspired me to study abroad, and features several stars in this great ensemble including Kelly Reilly and Audrey Tautou. Ideally this whole film trilogy should get a 4K release. It only has a region B blu-ray out of print. Rumor is Amazon is producing a sequel series about these characters. 3. Outlaw King (2018) - one of the better historical epics starring Chris Pine and Florence Pugh, but since it was a Netflix release, I don’t believe this one got a home video release. 4. Love Me if You Dare (2004) - A dark and kinda f**es up romcom from France starring Marion Cotillard. 5. Ring of the Nibelungs / Dark Kingdom: Dragon King - actually a fun and fairly epic adaptation of the same Germanic and Norse legends that inspired Richard Wagner's Ring Cycle operas and J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings. It is way better than most low-budget fantasy films.

I love animation so two of my favorites only on DVD are Cats Don't Dance and American Pop. Having them in 4k would be amazing! Both seem unlikely though. American Pop specially since it has a bunch of music from the time that they would have to pay the rights to.

One of my most wanted is finally coming out it seems-- DEATH MACHINE starring Brad Dourif. I never thought in my wildest dreams I'd see it in Blu-Ray or 4K but apparently, it is in the works. Hopefully both versions. I think after that I'd say would be Wild Side starring Anne Heche and Christopher Walken. I'd love a Blu-Ray with two of the three versions of the film. Not the cut-to-pieces version HBO dished out in the early 2000s, but the "director's cut" (made by the director's widow and the movie's editor), and the uncensored version prior to HBO going snip-snip to it.

Never cry wolf Walt Disney 1983 was a fantastic movie that absolutely Could use a blue Ray . Alive never had a blue ray, K2 Never had a blue ray. And that is Not to mention the blue Rays that were released only for a short time. That desperately needs a re release So weak collectors are not mortgaging the house just to Complete our collections.

As far as I understand from the hours of research I’ve done on the original Star Wars trilogy they’ll never see the light of day again. I believe Disney does not own the rights to the unaltered trilogy, but thanks to fans we got them already through the 4K77 project. I wish we would get an official release, but it doesn’t look like that’s ever going to happen. Btw, it would be awesome if you guys checked out 4K77 and made a video on it. It’s pretty cool.
