T-rex? You mean the giant skull on the top left? That skull has 4 eyesockets and the fangs got glued on by Stevie Wonder. Terrifying yes but i don't think that is even from Earth. I think that skull belonged to something far worse than a big lizard.

I'd like to think while this was going down, the other hunters were placing bets on whether the City Hunter can take the human in a straight up fight after screwing up so much. "Put me down for 5 on the human!" "Damn, really?" "Kid lost an arm and most of his equipment, I like those odds!"

Genuinely was, could you even imagine what was racing through the minds of movie nerds back in the 90s when they saw this? Coming out of the theatre and discussing how the alien and predator universe where in the same place? This one Easter egg, where the set designers or director had to beg execs to get permission in order to include spawned an entire sub genre, and whole new lore tid bits with the creatures….comics, video games, movies, novels and merchandising….crazy when you think of the butterfly effect from this…

I like to think that this predator was a young, inexperienced hunter. Just like kids who go out and mess around on a hunt in the backwoods and get themselves in trouble.

It was his initiation hunt to get blooded every new hunter have to prove themselves to the elder yautja's to get blooded to a hunter unit there is different type of hunter clans specialised for different hunts and preys in this predators case he failed to bring back his trophy and he got his cover blown and he got hunted by his prey to his clans lair/ship he would've been exiled or executed because he failed miserably read the comics they're awesome

In the lore, whenever a human can actually “keep up” in any way with a Predator in terms of reflexes and strength in a physical fight is when it’s a younger one

@@Nicholas_Chen_ In the lore all young Predators have to hunt a Xenomorph first before they can hunt humans. So, the City Hunter already hunted xenomorphs which is why he was allowed to hunt humans. This was probably his first-time hunting humans, which explains why he was sloppy and got his equipment lost and hand cut off.

Remember being overly excited when seeing the xenomorph skull up there. Years later when they announced there’d finally be an alien vs predator movie I was even more excited. Then I watched it in the theaters and…..disappointment was an understatement. Guess I should’ve known better when I saw it was PG13. You’ve got 2 of the most violent sci fi creatures in a film together and you put a filter on them? Wasn’t the worst film I’d ever seen but just felt like it was reeeeally lacking something.

He tried to split that Yautja in half with that forgotten weapon. That’s a close quarter weapon that another one gave him an old pistol for that dated back to the early 1700’s. When they once teamed up with humans.

What I love about this end fight was that it wasn’t an unrealistic fight or that they gave some ridiculous unexplainable power up to Harrigan to beat the predator. Even with one arm and 8 gunshot wounds the predator is still overpowering Harigan. So much so that he sent him flying at one point. But the predator you can see is fighting out of desperation and slight shock that a mere human has gotten him to such a state. Even at the very end, the predator is STILL underestimating Harigan by thinking it’s over before it really is which costs him the fight. Great detailing by the moviemakers.

2:36 2:48 FATALITY! He sliced the predator’s belly open with his own smart disc, gutting him like a fish! That’s an excruciating and embarrassing death, and one of the most painful and underrated villain defeats in films. The predator’s screams while its stomach is slowly being sliced open is agonising 😢

Man, the 90s were fruitful, saw this in the theater, also read the dark comics that sparked the AVP franchise around this time, also can’t forget the 94 AVP coin-op arcade game which was a solid “beat em up” for the time.
