Sorry you had issues with your move. As you know, I moved from San Diego to North Florida 3 years ago. It was a disaster. Cost was $13,000 %50 more than agreed. They lost my $30,000 persian carpet, $50,000 high quality painting, $300 step panels for chair and lots of electronics, etc. It was gone or disappeared. So after all this it was a very, very bad move. I will take your advice if I move to where you are so I never move again. 😆 LOL. One thing is I very much enjoy following your residence expertise. I grew up to like Malaysia from reading and watching your videos. I bought you coffee. Hope we can do it in person.

Mate, i have a good idea. Next time, hire an empty large van for 3 days. Then hire some hot strong locals to move the items into the van, drive them there and to place them for you. You can choose the staff and far more pleasant.

Despite the hassles and damage to your furniture, fortunately you're now at your new home and the worst is behind you. Unfortunately, it's only you, not the movers, that value your belongings. Some damage may occur no matter how careful one is, but it does sound as if they didn't put in enough effort. It also makes me think of UPS and FedEx that may just throw your box up to the door, or they deliver a box that looks like they drove over it with their truck. May you have many years of enjoyment in your new home.

Oh nooo. Am so sorry to hear of your woes with the Lorry co & personnel. Yes, they definitely are for the money instead of having their customer's satisfaction at heart. That said, please if, if ever you need to move house again, please get professional movers to do it for you. They will usually come discuss with you before the move then get you boxes for loose items to be boxed and then wrapped the remaining furnitures for the move. The fragiles will be sorted out and all. Anyway, hope you get loads of rest and enjoy settling in.

I dont think moving business have training. Most of the workers are either part time or casual and everything done by common sense.

Hi Andrew. Sorry to hear abt your misadventure in moving to your new digs. During my working years, I've had to move many times frm my home base to outstation places, including my office things(have lots of books and things in d office). Wat I did was to make sure I got a professional mover to move my things. Wat they wld do was to come to my house/office and ask to see d things I needed to move, after which they wld assess their costs, including how many lorries wld b needed to transport my personal effects. They wld then invoice me(d costs for d move wld include all d wrappings needed to ensure my furniture etc wld not b damaged, they wld unwrap my personal effects and take away all d rubbish for me). I don't remember d costs but as far as I'm concerned I paid watever was invoiced as money well spent since I don't remember being unhappy about d movers services. I used d same movers thru out. Dis way I saved myself a lot of grief.

In regards to the gouge... candle wax may make this less noticeable depending on size of it. Just get a candle and light it and drip wax into it and scrap the excess before it dries. May take you a few tries to do this to your satisfaction. Learnt this trick from a summer job restoring antique furniture. Cheques, you usually have to go into a bank to get them to print one or order via banking app or banking website. Atleast in the countries I've lived in recently. I really enjoy your vlogs. The Lorry is by en large a transport company. They move you from point A to point B. A relocation company however, takes care of everything and because of that, they are way more expensive. In my opinion, too expensive.

Some building management body insist of depositing the cheque or bank-in cash into the account instead of holding the cheque in the safe box. From their experience some cheques were bounced. You’ll also get the deposit after a month of moving in. For mover services, there are bound to be scratches and damage of furniture. Probably the pricier professional services will handle the items with care and would make sure enough lorries tonnage to accommodate all the items and charge accordingly.

Crown Worldwide Group. They do operate in Malaysia and throughout SE Asia . They are an American Company HQ in Hong Kong since 1965. I did work for this company in the USA freight forwarding operations briefly as an Import/export manager rep.

A lorry of these "moving companies" just sub contract the work out so you never know who you're going to get. When I was moving I engaged one of these companies and when I cancelled the man became very unpleasant and threatened to come on the day to beat me up. He also kept calling my phone non stop just to mess with me till I blocked him. I read many Google reviews of horror stories of these movers. It's ridiculous that they didn't go back and move the rest of your stuff especially if it was so near. You should just have gotten a small lorry from Lalamove for that and would not cost much. They were definitely trying to squeeze more money out of you. Under quoting is a known tactic and it happens to locals as well. In the end, I just got a lorry from Lalamove and it was so easy and they were so nice. A real professional mover with trained staff and uniformed would cost much more, think in thousands. Glad your ordeal is over anyway.

Very stressful moving, I want to move to a residential (no short term or holidy rental) building but real estates agents do not get back to me. Also found a place had pics of my building roof top pool as another building and then old story sorry that one has been taken but we have this other (no views etc) so frustrating. May be just easier to stay here. Sorry you went through this but it is over and hope you make the best of it. I guess a video of you cooking mac and cheese in your new kitchen will be on the cards.

Transport booked from people like thelorry are general transporters, not movers specifically. That's why they don't seem to know what to do. My suggestion would be to get a professional moving company the next time. It will cost more, but at least you are getting people who actually know what they're doing and things won't get damaged.

When I move... I tell the movers, I am not pickingup anything my self... Before moving get all the boxes you need and start packing before calling the movers.... Call friends and have a packing party on the weekend... Mark each and every box clearly with a marker pen ... what is inside and goes to which room... Be clear to the movers... I used 3 5 tonne lorries... or 1 5 tonne lorry 3 times... I Last moved in 2016 and still have stuff unopened in boxes.

The big truck could not fit the furniture in- means they had other things in the truck

I’ve run into similar problems the last 2 moves here in US. The last move took 2 trucks, with the supervisor trying to tell me to throw furniture away😡. And he was the same guy who estimated the move in the first place. All in all it took me 2 months in transit to get everything moved. So you aren’t alone.

cheque is an easy method to hold money. it has date on it, and it valid for a few months.

using and app is like that. what you pay is what you get. they cant nego more. that is app/company restriction. you have to estimate to use larger lorry such as 2 times transport for 10tons lorry. last time i used 5tons lorry. :D it was full, and no wrapping by them. i done it myself

Have to be watchful, sometimes movers are dishonest,watch your valuables. They are always not on time, rough with the furniture. Need to watch them carefully. Best to appoint established bigger company

I used a mover once to from one apt to another in the same complex. So Sorry to say my opinion is these guys are all crooks. Next time i am going to get the police involved.

Try renting in the US.. I looked at a place before I bought my house that was almost 2k a month and they wanted over 6k to just move in... nuts!!

You got ripped off! I feel that you should have postponed your move till you get an honest Mover. You should go after the Mover to get compensation for the damaged furnitures.
