It's cold outside, that will not stop me from milling some more logs. The skid loader did not want to start this morning so i thought i would take the opportunity to show you my plan B. Stayed tuned for the next video. I will continue where i left off and show the milling of the logs I moved over to the mill. Thanks for watching. I will see you all next time.my

That's what they don't tell ya when you start cutting wood. People seem to think it's all about chainsaws and axes, but really, haulin the logs out of the wood is the hardest part of the job imho. Not everybody has money for an atv or tractor. This is a great tool, thanks!

Leverage is probably one of man's earliest inventions eh? Still works great! Here in WI we just dropped below zero F (again) and won't get back above until Tues., maybe. Could be worse, this one isn't done by any means but the winter of 2013-2014 was much colder!

-8C is t-shirt weather. Just saying . I'll agree that it's cold when you hit -60F like it did for me this winter. And I still did my outside work. Had to take several breaks tho because otherwise your can damage your lungs. Stay safe out there!

I can see a log roller. some flat beams that you can put the logs on, then roll them down-hill to the mill. the log arch could lift either end to get them up high.

Very interesting. I have some land, and trees fall. I cut them up and burn them. But you have to move the pieces to stack it before burning. I have always lifted pieces into truck or pulled them with the truck. I was thinking about a dolly, but this log arch is much more versatile. I'm getting near 70, and I do not want my back messed up. Thanks for this tip. Where did your wife get the log arch that you used?

18 degrees is down right balmy. It reach just above zero today. I'm hoping for 15 degrees tomorrow so I can make an attempt at stating the mill. It doesn't like freezing temps. I may have to install electric start to save my shoulder, lol. Nice log arch. I'll bet that comes in super handy. Happy New Year Ben.

Dillons Woodworks, What type of oil are you running ? Maybe some 5W-20 would help ?
@practicallyIndependent
@practicallyIndependent 6 жыл бұрын
august That's a good idea. I will try changing the oil and maybe clean the carb. Then I'll get some Heet and non-ethonol fuel. These sub-zero temps are brutal on machinery. Thanks for the feedback. I'll let you know how it goes.
@augustreil
@augustreil 6 жыл бұрын
I know those temps will turn older, thicker, used oil into sludge. I know with all my smaller pull type engines: log splitter, snow blower, that when it starts getting real cold, I will change the oil to the 5W-20 and because it's thinner AND fresh, pulling it over is much easier. I think synthetic might help even more ? Hope it works for ya and have Happy New Year !!!!!
