I am a 61 yr old single woman with an almost 40 yr old son. He is married with three children. I have never been a confident person due to childhood issues. However, watching your channel has given me the confidence to step out of my comfort zone and try things I have always wanted to. You will never regret being home with your children. May God continue to bless you.

I’m another same age friend, Karen and Francine! I watch and learn from and enjoy these videos. I stayed home with my children, though we didn’t homeschool (that was definitely a discussion we had but the resources weren’t as good back then) so instead I was in their classrooms as much as possible as a parent helper. Sometimes I get down on myself for things I feel I should have done differently or could have done better, but one thing I’ve gained from watching these videos is to give myself grace. We did the best we could and God was definitely in the journey with us. Have a wonderful day, my new friends!

In January, while in law school, I suffered a brain injury that prevents me from being able to work or return to school. At only 26, I felt useless because all I could do was be at home. One day I was praying to God about my pain. A little later, I came across your channel. I don’t have children, but I have learned the beauty of caring for a home, my husband, others, and being grateful for what I have due to watching your channel. My brain is slowly recovering 10 months later, and I must attribute my thankfulness to God for showing me His light in you. THANK YOU FOR YOUR POSITIVITY AND HONESTY !!

43yr old English housewife here who has watched since the very beginning! Most mums in our region have to work full time and homemakers are not valued here at all we're often judged as burdens/failures. Sharing your online community has made me feel less lonely over the years raising my kids and trying to make home a lovely place for them and my husband, it's given dignity to my hard work when I've felt low, and helped me persevere. Thanks so much for all your work and for being so encouraging.

I am part of that younger demographic! I’m 24 with 2 daughters! I’m blessed to be able to stay home with them while my wonderful husband works to provide for us ❤️ Things have gotten really tight money wise but thanks to this page I’ve been able to get creative with how we utilize food! We aren’t able to afford the organic and pasture raised stuff but we use what we can afford! We are building up toward being self sufficient even though we know it’s a ways down the line! God had blessed us with our little family and it’s great to see other families living it up simply ❤️ I feel like the black sheep in every convo cause people will talk about their vacations they went on or party’s they went to and I’m just like “I made amazing sourdough banana bread” 😂

I’m 74 years old. I homeschooled our daughter through high school and along the way became quite a devoted gardener and I preserve everything! I have learned so much from younger moms through KZfaq! You have made me quite the sourdough “expert,” and I now ferment everything with confidence, dehydrate and make many of my own medicinals. But most of all I want to thank you for your devotion to family, your genuineness in sharing what you’ve learned and your process. As you said we don’t suddenly become accomplished, rather we “do” and through the doing we learn. I love watching you and your family grow in so many ways,

Lisa, I’m 60 and mother of two. I wish 15/20 years ago I knew of all I have learned from your blog and videos. I was a professional photographer for 18 years and I thank you for all this info. You do a fabulous job in every aspect. I now work from home in another career. Separating out the get ready for work/commute time / buying work clothes and gas truly puts more money in our savings and gives me more time for my home and adult family. My husband and adult children are now used to walking in the door smelling sourdough bread in the oven, all home made meals, and just so much more that adds to the wonderful life we have. My daughter said, mom when I stop over tomorrow I do need more of your home made laundry detergent. I said, bring your container. I know this is long and u may not have the chance to read. Seeing my family’s reactions to things I do now verses what I never thought I could do years ago is so rewarding. I’m a 60 year old woman and the confidence level I have in my home making is equal to the confidence level I had at the top of my photography career. As in photography studios the competition is fierce. But, people only want to compete with and put down those who are at the top of their game. When I google farmhouse cooking you come up. Homestead living you come up. I thank you and wish you all the best life has to offer to you and your family.

It’s extremely encouraging for society to know that young women are watching you. We are coming off of 2 generations of women who were told that motherhood and home making are not valuable, or at least not as valuable as higher education and career. Look around, society is paying the price for that. We need mothers committed to MOTHERING and HOMEMAKING above everything else. God has sent Lisa to be one of those to lead the way in building our new, better society, one that prioritizes traditional families.

PERFECTLY said. I once worked with a young woman who told me that she hated to see women who were stay at home moms. She found them lazy. Her ex mother-in-law lived twenty minutes away and got the kids ready for and picked up from school. She also fed them their meals. My coworker was very proud to do a 60 hour work week and "keep" a home. I pointed out that they were very lucky to have such a caring grandmother doing so much for them. She agreed. Unfortunately, she's just one of many women raised with the "girl power" mantra who were told that education and career was the goal and that daycare and school was for child rearing.

Our society/culture has spent the last 2-3 generations denigrating homemakers, mothers, women who want to stay at home ... to its detriment. I believe in equal pay, etc for all, but don't shame women because they choose to be stay-at-home wives and mothers! I thought it was supposed to be women could make their own choices, but I guess only if they choose to have a career outside the home. And then your children from babyhood onwards are institutionalized. Loving your home and family is obviously not enough, not trendy. What a shame. Lisa is a real inspiration to young women out there.@@salvease

It's those worldly influences that ruin many lives without those victims realizing it. Seems advertisements are aimed at making people feel less because they are led to believe their salaries should be bigger no matter what they are. Instead of explaining the merits of a product, they make ppl think they *must* own that product, whether they need it or not. LOL. I've been on this earth a long time now, (even quite a bit more than you, Miss Mirinda, lol) and I've watched those big salaries and impressive job titles come and go with people and when they go, so does the person's feeling of self-worth. It doesn't have to be that way. Forget everyone's expectations (their usually false, anyway) and concentrate on what God has gifted you. We know who the "prince of the air" is and he gets in through media, *all* media. Pray for God's help to make a living as you actually live. Please remember that you do not have to defend your decisions in this world to worldly ppl. As an older woman, I can't emphasize how quickly life goes by....I sincerely everyone slow waaay down and enjoy each moment in adherence to God's guidance. You will be glad at the end of this earthly visit. Godspeed.

Thank you so much for this video. I'm 24 yo with two children and a third on the way. My husband and I are living in a small appartment and are looking to buy our first house soon and my dream is to have enough space to be able to have a few chickens, a dairy cow, a little garden and space for our children to run freely. In the mean time I'm slowly learning different skills in the kitchen thanks to your channel and others on the internet. Your story is reviving my hope that this dream of mine might one day come to reality even though it sometimes feels like it will never happen. But for now I put my trust in the Lord and I also make a conscious effort every day to appreciate what we have now : a happy marriage, healthy children, enough food and money for our needs. I can not express how grateful I am that you shared your journey with us. Thank you so much ! You don't know how much this gives me hope. God bless you.

Hello Lisa, I am a 61 year old divorced mom of 5, half of them are older than you are! I watch because like you, I am in Missouri and am in love with your home. I was so blessed to be able to be a stay at home mom and homemaker during most of my 32 year marriage. My heart was to homeschool but my husband was completely against it. I won't go into that, but being a homemaker and stay at home mother was a total blessing and a joy and I miss those days very much. I was a renegade gardening, organic food scratch cooking, home birthing, cloth diapering, breastfeeding, herbalist and homeopathic using earth mama weirdo back when it was so not trendy or cool. Later, beiing a single mom with teenagers and working full time in the corporate world to support them was the hardest part of my life. Getting to watch your vlogs is like having a bowl of homemade Mac n cheese. It's pure comfort food for my tired nostalgic empty nesting soul!

Focusing on family, faith, health and a safe place to call home is everything in this life. Thank you for sharing all this. You are truly a blessing on this platform and I always look forward to your posts. Blessings.

I’ve been watching your videos for about 6 months now. I started with newer ones and then went back and started binge watching some of your older videos. I just love them. You and your family are hard working and amazing😊. You have wonder family values that are these days. ❤ At 64, I know that some days are rough so I don’t fall into the group that thinks life is always easy for you. What I do see, is someone who lives life to the fullest and you give us such a gift sharing your way of life on the farm ❤

I’m a 65 year old grandmother of 7 grandchildren ages 14 years to 1 1/2 years of age. I so wish you were around during my years of young motherhood of my two girls! I had daycares bring up my girls and always felt angry, overwhelmed and wanted to be the one bringing them up instead of a 4x4 cubicle in a large corporate office. I didn’t realize I had choices. I love your calm voice and your positive messages of being able to make it in the country! ❤ I say move out of the New England area! I grew up without family, so family means the world to me! I’m obsessed with your channel and listen constantly, loving watching your family and cooking ALL your recipes! Dianne R. God is good!!!

The beauty of what you are doing is that women at least have the choice now whereas in the past it didn’t matter what women wanted to do. We just needed to follow the path chosen for us. Having women come together to value what we bring to the table in our chosen paths makes me so happy for our future 😊

I first found farmhouse on Boone in 2019 when I was pregnant with my first and researching about cloth diapering. I love your videos, they are always so peaceful. Even though we have very different lives (I live in a very urban area, my kids go to school, etc) I feel like the core value is still shared - enjoying everyday life. The joy of cooking, baking, spending time with kids, etc. I agree with some other comments on here that its important that women have the choice now - I know a lot of great moms who have a career outside the home. I have been at home for two years with my kids now and have loved it. Its a better fit for me than my old job, but I am very grateful it was my choice to stay at home. I love that you and your husband both get to be at home and have this shared responsibility for the kids/home/business - what a blessing!

I was the youngest of 9 children growing up in 1960s England. There was never enough money or food and that instilled in me the need to always be able to provide for my own family. When my 2 children were small, I was a full time mum and my cupboards, fridge and freezer were always full. Like you, I cooked from scratch every day, Bread, preserves, yoghurt, cakes and all meals were made in my tiny kitchen. Then 20 years ago, my husband and I split up and I had no choice but to work 40 hours per week to keep the roof over our heads. More and more processed food crept into our diet as I was so tired and overwhelmed and this is something I bitterly regret. Now I'm 60 and unable to work because of poor health, but my son and my beautiful 2 year old granddaughter have just moved in with me due to his partner leaving them. I found that I'd lost my confidence in the kitchen, but I'm determined to get back to my younger days when cooking was so satisfying and rewarding. My son is an amazing cook and I want to inspire my granddaughter to be able to always cook for herself using whatever is at hand. She loves helping me with simple tasks like whisking eggs, making pastry and anything else that doesn't involve heat or knives as she's not quite old enough yet. We've just sectioned off part of our small garden for her to grow some veg and it's people like you and Chelsea from LMR that are motivating me to ensure that she learns these valuable and essential life skills. The tide is turning against processed foods and while ready meals etc will always have their uses, today's youngsters need to know there are healthier, cheaper options to grabbing a lasagne off the supermarket shelf and putting it in the microwave. Thanks for the motivation, encouragement and honesty. Your videos make me feel so content, like I used to when I was a young mum knowing that I was providing my kids with the best I could. Ultimately, we're all just doing the best we can depending on our circumstances, but being armed with the right tools and knowledge will make life a lot easier.

While I already knew much of your story, I still love hearing it. You are raising your children the way I would have liked but didn’t have the opportunity. You are so wise to raise them this way and to homeschool them. I haven’t always felt the way I do about home schooling. After my granddaughter told me about some of the things she is around and what she is exposed to in middle school, I have a totally different opinion of homeschooling. Children are exposed to so much bad stuff at a young age in this crazy world. You have a blessed life. Thanks for sharing your sorry.
