American football in Italy: WIN IN ROME
If you want to see a perfect representation of a modern day gladiator, the elite athletes working to grow this sport in Europe are it. This week on Moving The Chains, we talk to the Lazio Marines head coach, Stan Bedwell about his efforts to take American football to the next level in Italy. Coach Bedwell has played and coached all over Europe for the last 11 years and has not only seen how far this sport has come, but has helped elevate it to a higher level.

I love these videos I just hate that there's this repetitive notion that Americans are all about money when it comes to football and essentially that it's all about the capitalism. Americans love their game, Peewee, middle School up to high school where the Love of the Game is embedded in the very culture of a city or state. Still very passionate and enthusiastic about our game, all I'm saying.

I think the whole capitalism thing really has to do with Europe/UK's general attitude towards capitalism. They have many courses at the university level that are critical of it, so it runs all the way to each nation's government. Also, many abroad are quite ignorant on how salary works in the NFL.
