Moving sucks and that will never change. I started packing 2 months in advanced, set up a plan and schedule, and tried to keep everything organized. I'm moving in 2 days and so far absolutely nothing has gone to plan and I have been stressed out the entire time!

No matter how much prep you do, it still will be stressful, but you can ease it up quite a bit :)

Most movers charge by the hour, so packing beforehand was an essential for us. I color coded all the boxes and labeled each room with each unique color so no guess work where things needed to go. As they stated, time is the most important to save money and stress.

The hardest thing for me is that some things have to be left to the last minute. I'm moving across country and ocean (I live in NZ so the country is 3 islands) and it looks like I will be using a shipping container to move stuff. But some stuff can't go in until the day that I need to hand over the house to the new owners. For me, that's stressful coz normally I organise weeks in advance!
