Hi I'm Kevin Grolig, a Real Estate Agent with Compass in Montgomery County, Maryland. Thinking about moving to Gaithersburg? Let me tell you about the 8 reasons why it's a GREAT place to live! Gaithersburg, MD is located right in the heart of Montgomery County. While it isn't the cheapest place in MoCo to live, it's certainly not the most expensive either. The pricing of housing ranges pretty dramatically in Gaithersburg. A single family home for example, can run you anywhere between a low of $400k to a high of $2 Million! Great Video! I retired to Brazil, so this is bringing back memories of dropping my daughter off at CHOPTS for work and going to Rio for the movies. Hope I didn't leave any ICC tickets behind when I left. FYI. I moved into Gaithersburg over 25 years ago in a TownHome for $138k. Thanx!😎

@@blackwood1064 Unfortunately, yes. That mall is dead and has been for a few years now. The pandemic was the death blow. If you go to the food court, you'll see the large canvas they have with the architect plans for the property

I have a question, what sort of salary do you need to be comfortable for two adults and two cats to move to the area? We would be moving from Ohio and I know the numbers are higher in Maryland.

I grew up in Gburg and trust me it is nothing remarkable. It's not really even nice. It's just sprawling suburbia. Cookie cutter homes and strip malls as far as the eye can see. It's advertised as "near" everything, but in your day-today life that means nothing. It's near the Chesapeake, but you won't go there most of the time. In real terms, you will be living in an ugly suburban community and driving ALL THE TIME. You will need a car to anything, unless you can get into Kentlands. Even then, you'll nee a car to get into the District or to the the Metro. It has crappy mid-Atlantic weather. Brutally hot summers, cold and wet winters, one week of spring, and a fairly nice autumn. There is nothing to do but eat and drink, maybe go to a movie. It's very crime ridden as well. MS-13 is all over. All my friends hated it and left after graduation. I used to think everyone hates their hometown. But after meeting people from all over it seems many like to go back to where they grew up. Not Gburg. We left and never looked back.

Thanks for watching my video. There’s certainly no perfect areas anywhere. I currently live in Gaithersburg, was raised in Rockville, and raised my family in Germantown. I enjoy Montgomery County, and am proud to call it home.
