i turned 25 and it was an emotional and hard birthday for me in the midst of so much change in my life including my move to new york city ! i am so grateful for so much but this is a chatty vlog as i celebrate my 25th birthday but also get vulnerable about how difficult this transition has been for me and reflect on my thoughts on relationships, friendships, birthdays, and trying to learn to be my own best friend.

I was in your EXACT shoes a year from now. Ended a 6 year relationship after moving to a new city together, was right after my birthday so not on it but I felt like everything I had ever planned and thought for my 26th year was now a disaster. Keep your head up, you’re so so positive and you’ll get through this and reflect on this day in a year and see how far you’ve come! I’ve never been more sure of my self, you’re so right when you say you’re the only person that’s going to be there through everything for yourself. Just don’t think of it in a negative way, we get one life to live and that should be motivation to be proud of who you are ❤

I turn 56 next month. My hardest birthday to get through emotionally was my 25th. I felt like I was leaving my young adult years. I was no longer in the 18-24 age group on surveys, I was suddenly thrust into the 25-34 age bracket and I struggled with that!! In truth, my very best, most fun and rewarding decade was my 30's. My 40's were pretty good as well, and I figured out what truly mattered in my life. Now iny 50's I'm more confident than I've ever been, unafraid and unabashed, completely at ease with myself and the realizations that come with advanced age. Enjoy your journey. Embrace all of the feelings. Time really does fly...❤❤

This isn’t a depressing vlog at all. It’s actually the opposite. It’s refreshingly honest. It’s a raw look at being a human being from start to finish. You are extremely brave for being so honest and vulnerable. So, no, it’s not depressing. It’s uplifting because so many of us have been exactly there or are currently going through it, and you unintentionally offer comfort by showing us we’re not alone in the experiences we’ve had with friends, family, and romantic relationships. I’m 43 and I completely related. I was crying with you. Some wounds remain fresh but there’s beauty in that, too. I feel like I mostly have to rescue myself instead of relying on those who are supposed to care. I’ve also gone through several friends. You really do outgrow some people. But we really need to hang on to the ones who would do anything for us. They really are far and few. I hope you continue to shine in the big apple. Happy belated 25th birthday. For the next one, take yourself on a solo travel trip. Go somewhere you’ve always wanted to go. I hope the smile that was on your beautiful face at the end of this video stays there. I hear you, & what you are feeling is totally valid. Its definitely an adjustment for you, & you are going through quite literally one of the biggest changes of your life right now. I imagine this is your first birthday since your breakup too which is rightfully so tough. I get existential on my birthday & begin thinking about how much of my life is trimmed off now & that I have less time to live & it makes me really sad. But working on appreciating it more. Im 28 years old & even being here in Chicago 16 years I do feel I have “less” friends & think a part of getting older involves kinda having “less” friends because we all get busy with life. It makes it super important to really find the most things you love about yourself & appreciate your own time & life and find enjoyment in it. Along that way, you will naturally find new friends. I imagine your classes you do, you will find friends there & going to shows you go to you will stumble on friends who enjoy the things you do. Its a lot to process. Im not perfect, i’ve cried over this myself too. Having been through breakups myself & being someone that loves having a close friend or friends to rely on, post breakup you can feel extra isolated & time will ultimately be the only thing to heal that. You got this Lucia, I believe in you

Breaks are hard and even if time passes some memories can cause some feelings to come back up. Change can be wonderful but it can also cause anxiety. I get right now you feel jaded but trust that the universe has a plan and you won’t always feel this way. All these feelings will pass and the right person will come at some point and make all the tears worth it. Keep taking care of yourself and filling your cup with what makes u happy now and the rest will just happen. ❤

I just did a free week of corepower too. You just moved to a new city so give yourself some grace. Also, it’s normal to feel like you’re feeling regardless if you just moved or not. Hang in there. . I usually celebrate my birthday by doing something nice for myself like a facial/massage, and I go out and get birthday freebies. Also, I think its hard to celebrate your birthday alone. However, its better to be alone than in bad company. People will come and go, but the relationship with yourself is so important. However, people need people and its natural to want people around to celebrate with you. Give it time and dont be afraid to cultivate relationship with others. You got this lovely. I had the same feelings you had during my teenage years - I had to experience loneliness growing up since I was picked on during school - I struggled to accept this reality during school, college and during my twenties, but started to appreciate myself once I turned 29 after reading books about life and my outlook in life has been more positive, inspiring and patient than I’ve ever been as a 30 year old adult. I hope you know that many people are rooting for you! Take this time to learn to be alone with yourself, take yourself on dates, meditate, do workouts, journal once you are ok and happy doing all the things that full filled you you won’t take the minimum from any of your relationships because you will know what you want and deserve, enjoy the journey and then you will say heck yes! I Did That!

A lot of what you said is true BUT I do feel like you were speaking in the heat of the moment. I get it that this realization is hard because you’re always had that one special person and now you don’t. But just know that your not alone millions of people are in the same position as you hell even in Manhattan theirs thousands of people just like you feeling the same way, so don’t get discouraged it’s just life Best advice I can give you is that you should focus on yourself and put your priorities first. Surround yourself with people that match the same energy as you and most importantly be there for your true friends when they need you. I promise you if your their for your friends that you truly think are your real friends they will be there for you as well. I turned 29 on the 18th. I get how you’re feeling:/ life is hard and it’s just important to make those happy memories and to take of your self. Because you’re right only you are responsible for you. Yes, what you said made sense Lucia! I felt similarly when I turned 25.... I wouldn't say that people don't really care about others, but everyone has their own priorities which don't always align with other people's priorities. It can definitely be disappointing. So at the end of the day, YOU DO YOU. It's all the more reason to go after what you want, and with what control we do have, maintain our relationships in the best way possible ❤

I just discovered your channel and wanted to give advice on what you said. Being by yourself is okay, as long as you keep doing things for yourself and working on yourself and don't fall into any bad habits like self medicating with alcohol or hard drugs. As someone who has seen some of my family members fall victim to alcoholism and drug addiction, do yourself a favor and drink responsibly and don't drive while under the influence and don't ever do things like c*caine, m3th, or so on because it's not worth it just for a temporary band-aid to a bigger underlying problem. Being by yourself might be tough especially if you're more extroverted and need socializing, just think of it as finding out who really cares about you and who doesn't care. It's not surprising you feel this way though at this age, you've graduated high school, gone to college, moved cities, and got a job in your field and so have the other people you known and unfortunately people will drift apart as they make new friends and move to new places. The people who care will bother to stick around and stay in contact regularly, those who don't care will just drift away into the wind. Just know that if people drift away, that it is not your fault and you shouldn't overthink on why they they drifted away. Big life changes can be difficult, especially when its coupled with finding out who your true friends are. Just take care of yourself, and know that if things get to be too much you can always seek out therapy or counseling.

I get it about friends. My best friend lives in Texas and my other in Florida. Ive been in Alabama for one year and it is LONELY. And there is no real way for me to make friends here. Mothers day was horrible this year for me. And I know no one will be planning my bday. It's been rough. But like all moves I know it will get better. And the reality is you will never know what people think. I've been through the ringer even in this new marriage. But we press on, we get stronger, and we try to enjoy the little things.

I so empathize with all of your life transitions at a key milestone in your life. I hope you know that you are not alone. You have family and friends who love you, followers who love you, and if you have faith you know God loves you more than anyone else ever could.
