You should watch this video if you are considering moving to the UK, or if you just moved and you are in the midst of settling. In this video, I talked about:
- The reasons why I chose to relocate to London in the Uk
- The first things I had to do to feel settled forming collecting my BRP, to getting a GP, to renting an apartment, creating a bank account and more.
Links I mentioned in the video

Hi Peace! Your videos are quite explanatory and exciting. I moved to Ireland last year to study, graduated in September but started working in July. Ireland is quite cool and laid back. It's smaller than the UK with smaller communities but the ease of life is quite nice. Irish people are full of life and always ready for a laugh and I am really enjoying my time here. I hope to visit the UK for Christmas and hope to share my experience with you. Take care! Adeyemi

I have plans to study in Ireland next year. Masters in University of Limerick to be precise. I have seen a few videos online about living and schooling there but I think, if I heard to hear about living in Ireland from another Nigerian sounds great.

Great video as always. I moved to Dubai in June. Just as you said in the video, everything works. I can check bus time on google maps so I don't need to stand at the bus station for long. There's a train every 5 minutes. Let's not even go into constant electricity and fast Wi-Fi. Despite all this though, it can get very lonely but I'd pick loneliness over the situation of things back home.

I was waiting for you talk about the cold!!!!!!!! As I stepped out of the plane, I also ran back in. It was like I was being put in the freezer, especially coming from a country that's at 36°C. Anyway, it's been great so far. It's like a new life, new opportunity for me. I'm trying out new things and enjoying every day. I came with my partner so I'm not lonely. Lol

Great video. You have learnt the system quickly. If you live alone can get 25% council tax discount. When you said NIN was like this is the Nigeria one lol, NI number. The housing the reason why they are so detailed is because when someone does not pay rent, long process to evict. A lady who was international student they asked for guarantor or 6 months rent upfront. Been in employment and reference helps a lot. New subscriber, your contents are quality.

This is a very balanced video. I particularly like the point you made about renting an apartment as I hadn’t realised how much of an issue this was until my sister moved to the UK to study and struggled to get an apartment with her son, despite being able and willing to pay in advance. This certainly wasn’t the case 15 - 20 years ago but it appears that people need to now be mindful,, if you cannot demonstrate UK income, it is highly likely to be challenge, even if you can afford to pay for it but as you say, putting down a huge initial payment for a few months is one way to get around it.

Don’t get me started on this getting lost issue, I once entered the right bus from a wrong stop and got to an entirely new place, I kept wondering why the stops they were announcing were different from what’s on my map😂😂😂

Great Video, Peace. I can feel your excitement as you talk about how “things just work” in the UK. I visited Lagos Nigeria for the first time in 2017 and it was a big cultural shock for me. Things just didn’t work as I’ve been used to in the US. Lol… Funny thing is that I got married in London back in 2015 and I had to option to live there. Unlike how you felt, I felt like things were a bit complicated for me. America makes things 2x more simple in my opinion which is why I ended up not moving 😂
