I adore you for talking openly about crying, emotions that come up with change & moving like frustration, being overwhelmed and exhausted. It’s so healthy to see, truly. We all moved and weren’t happy with things in the house, it’s super rarely perfectly left and done. We all struggle with change and chaos until we are finally feeling like everything has its place and we are finally mentally as well as physically at home. It’s so very human to feel such things. And to allow yourself to cry and talk it out and whatever other sustainable health tools you have to deal with them. You are not for nothing my favorite KZfaqr I have ever watched. You are so real and I adore you for exactly everything you are. Thank you. The world needs someone so real, so emotionally open. I love and adore you so very much. And yes, being able to rest and take care of yourself in the face of chaos is so important!

Hey Carter!! On the whole raking not raking where I live in QC there’s an organization that will gladly take any gatherings and use it to mix in with compost or fertilizers. Another good option is if you’re in the country side, you could probably also just dump the excess leaves and sticks in a Forrest nearby, etc. Of course that is if you want to remove it, otherwise nature will naturally take care of itself by creating a barrier between ice / snow - soil and some insects and other soil living creatures!! No judgment whatsoever here, it can definitely be an eye sore and especially invading if you have lots and lots of trees around, just thought I’d share some options that, at least, on my side of the country we have. Anyways love seeing the house coming together ❤️

I'm living for these vlogs -I love your real and raw honesty with moving. As one fellow green paint lover to another, I have a little tip (I had to learn the hard way after painting an entire bedroom seafoam/pastel green). Depending what you are wanting and going for of course, the swatches can be deceiving and I find that green comes out way more saturated than you think. I found a youtuber who painted their space the green that I was going for, so I went and got a sample and couldn't be happier. It's "Vintage Vogue" by benjamin moore, and it's kind of like a dark academia style green, rather than a 12 year old boy's room vibe...if that makes sense. Samples are always worth it!

OU ok thank you! Yes I defintely plan on doing samples (like I did on the walls) when we get back from vacation!! I just figured the swatches were a good start but you're so right- colour especially can look so different as actual paint so defintely going to make sure I do that- thank you!

Catching up on your vlogs and I wanted to say we are in the same situation of being in a new house where the owners did not do things properly and I really feel your pain! It’s such a mix of emotions - feeling like you should be grateful for the new space, so much frustration when you find something new to be fixed and just generally trying not to lose your shit 😂 but we will both get there and I feel like these houses now have the owners they deserve who will take the time to do stuff properly ❤️

We just moved out of a house that had a lot of projects to do because the prior owners did a lot of diy projects. The crazy thing was they were the original owners when the home was built in 2000 and it was 15 years old but they were an older couple and probably used family friends to fix things instead of doing it the proper way and the husband passed away, so it became too much for the wife. We had a small narrow kitchen that had not as many cabinets as well, with no pantry or storage anywhere to non-perishables so we definitely got creative with storage, since we couldn’t redo the layout, we just replaced all of the upper cabinets and then replaced the countertops with the pre-sized ones from Home Depot for $250 that was laminate but looked like fake marble and that gave it a fresh new look. I wish you luck for the next few months/years as you guys fix things up, because like you said it’s just one thing at a time so you don’t get overwhelmed. 😊

The coffee bar is actually an ikea bathroom towel rail Skogsviken so wouldn’t have come with hooks, but we’ve used the same in our kitchen for hand towels. Ikea sell small black trays which sit on top of the rails too (the idea is for safekeeping rings and jewellery etc when showering)

Love the kitchen plans and the Costco store clearance haul, I wish I had one near me. Random question, but why did you unbox the books, if they have no place to go into? Since you're also going to paint the walls (I presume) you're probably going to have to go through them again then and when you get the library. I would have kept them in the boxes, even though I know you said you wanted everything unboxed...

Since a big part of my content is book related I wanted them all out so I can find books easier! Yes hypothetically we will have to move them off the wall to paint at some point, it isn't going to be in the next few weeks so it didn't bother me to unbox them since I was having a hard time finding the books I wanted to read! We also aren't sure if we need to even paint the wall where the built in bookcases are going since it will fit the length and height of the wall so we may just be able to put the bookcases up without painting! Honestly it may not make sense to everyone but for me in order to feel truly unpacked in our home I needed to unpack my books!

Have you considered swapping the dining and living room? You’re probably satisfied with the way youve arranged it now but I might also be moving soon and thats what I’d do in that house if I get it! X

Yes we did! It's hard to tell from the angles I've vlogged at but our dining room has 2 doorways, an outside door and is quite narrow so as much as I wanted to turn it into a living room it just wasn't working no matter what we tried tbh. But I've come to love our cozy little living room plus the big front room will be our library/game room so we'll basically have 2 living rooms soon anyways!

Hey! Glad too see someone who lives a area I do. I live not far from the St.lawrence river, and grew up in the country side in a little town called Morrisburg. I still live in somewhat in the countryside now. How far from the city did you move. Hope you find the countryside alot more peaceful than the city.

Of course! I'm not a fan of the counters matching the cabinets 💀 But we are going to change the layout on the kitchen in a few years so no point in buying new countertops now! We're just going to do peel and stick for now as we have other big financial priorities in the house before re-doing the kitchen as a whole! It may not be super cute or practical but it works for now!

I mean I can't really say if it's worth it or not since the products change daily. You could make the drive and find absolutely nothing you want or find everything you want. I say if you are ever in Ottawa go check it out!

Appreciate your honesty about mental health and seasonal depression. Would you be open to sharing your medication/therapy journey(even if was from past)? It's such a journey of trial and error to find the right medication.

I actually did share all about my medication journey with high functioning depression in a somewhat recent video which goes more into depth! kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hbB4lZBp1rzReas.html I weaned off my depression medication a few years back because I felt as though I had gained alot of valuable knowledge through therapy and felt like I wanted to try and be off medication. I am still on medication for my anxiety (which is mainly my PTSD) but I was able to wean off taking it daily and now just take it PRN. I think a big thing to also note is I do consume THC products and this has helped me immensely since it is legal in Canada. I am always hesitant to share my medication journey since it's SO different for everyone and everyone's symptoms are manifested so differently. For example, my anxiety manifests through alot of cardiac and physical symptoms so I take propranol which helps slows down your heart rate and makes it easier for your heart to pump blood around your body. This works for me but most people are on benzodiazepines like xanax or ativan for their anxiety so what works for me may not work for others! As for therapy, I talked about that in depth in the video I linked above too! I am not currently in a position where I feel like I need regular therapy as I was in it for like 6-7 years for various reasons: PTSD, family issues, abusive relationship etc and have gained alot of insight and tools to apply in my everyday life. Of course I'm not ever against going back to therapy but feel as though I'm in a good enough place to manage my mental health alongside medication.
