✅ Mowing ATV Trails - Bobcat Toolcat with Skid Steer MTL XC7 Hydraulic Swing Blade Cutter

Here I mow my grass trails with my 2016 Bobcat Toolcat 5600. I use a MTL XC7 60" cut (68" overall width) hydraulic brush mower that has a 300lb flywheel and three 1ft long swing axes to take out some serious trees (6+ inches). I use this cutter to maintain several miles of trails as well as mow a few acres of field. The Toolcat is essentially a skid steer powertrain/hydraulic pump/quick attach plate setup so it can use all the same attachments. This cutter weighs about 1500lbs which is the rated operating capacity (ROC) for the Toolcat (meaning 50% of tipping weight, it can lift about 3k lbs).
I made the arms for the wheels (std brush hog wheels, purchased here: amzn.to/3khy5vF) so I can float the boom for easier mowing, I can pop them off with 4 bolts if I want to get into heavier stuff. I used 2x3x3/16 rectangular and 1.5x0.25 DOM round tubing.

Hey Nate, did anybody ever tell you that you have a resemblance to the actor Gary Sinise from CSI New York? 😎 I just wanted to thank you for all your Toolcat videos. I've been shopping for a big piece of land, and trying to figure out what type of skid steer that I might need, and your videos are persuading me to consider the Toolcat. I really appreciate how you are here to inform, as opposed to promote. Your objectivity has been so helpful for me to determine what my best options are. Appreciate your videos. Any advice on a REASONABLY SIMPLE way to improve the T-mobile gateway signal inside my house and to achieve a wi-fi signal in my detached garage which is about 75' away. I'm not a techie guy, but can follow good instructions. Thanks!!

The only simple way to improve the cell signal is to keep moving the gateway around til you find a location and orientation that gives you the best speed. To get wifi to your garage I'd suggest a wifi point 2 point bridge like kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hKh0mtWeuNW4gHU.html

Curious about how fast your speed was during cutting?

I'm not exactly sure, i am typically limited by the terrain for how fast I want to drive, not a limitation on the machines cutting ability. I think it would cut at over 10mph if I wanted to drive that fast. I probably do 5-7mph most of the time.
