This 1.5 acre property was very profitable if you're cutting it weekly in about 1 hr. Per cut for $500 a month. If you take your $500 ÷ 4.33 (cuts monthly) = $115.47 per man hour. BTW you are averaging .88 minutes (.52.8 seconds) per 1,000 gross sq ft. With a 36" mower. Your 68,306 ÷ 1000 = 68.306 units x .88 mins per unit = 60 mins (the time it takes you to mow this property). I'm old and slow and estimate a minimum of 2-3 mins per 1,000 gross on my bi-weekly residential cuts plus 15-20 mins for WEB (Weeder, Edging, Blow)10,2,3= minutes minimum. Your 10,000 sq ft Lots would take me 20-25 mins Mowing plus 15-20 mins WEB. This are based on ideal condition and increase with various factors. I'm lucky to complete 3 yards in 2 hours.

When I was a kid it was my duty to keep the yard mowed. The problem was that we had a 2 acre yard. With a regular riding mower and a push mower. By the time I got through it was time to start over again. So my summers were spent mowing.

I often mow about 3 acres of lawn with a 21 inch push mower, not self propelled, PUSH, yes I could do it with a ride on, but that particular lawn has a lot of uneven places, and the push mower leaves a much nicer look, yes it takes longer, but you also get to walk a whole bunch

Years ago, I was working for a pump & tank company fixing signs at gas stations, I would end up doing other services like maintaining the appearance of closed down Sunoco's. One of them had a lawn of almost two acres and it was a once-a-month deal. The grass would be over a foot tall most times, and we had the same exact mower as you have there. I didn't get to mow it more than twice, but it sucked.

I have a couple of larger lots that I have no business mowing with a 36 inch deck. Profit levels less than desirable because not very efficient. I don’t want to drop them mainly due to they are loyal customers with no payment issues. Plus if do justify to purchase a larger mower, I will already have a handful of big properties.

This reminds me of helping my grandpa cut his acre 😂 He wanted some help and I tagged along. He gives me an old push mower and i get to work. It takes me about an hour and a half for my Acre of property. My riding mower does about 15 mph top's in forward and reverse. I have to cut uphill and downhill it's about the same grade as this lawn but not as perfect.I do the same style of mowing you did. but i have to go around in a circle a couple of times since it's a riding mower and not a zero-turn.If you want a good pair of head phones i use Blackweb headphones A004 the battery last up to 12 hours and you can either use a cord or bluetooth. They all so have nice sound and Base to them even with bluetooth. These will connect to your cellphone. Walmart was selling them at the time but not sure if they would have them in your area.

Imo,a yard where the majority of your time is spent on the mower and has little trimming is a sweet deal. I have a 42" with most yards being around 1/4 acre. Most take 30-45 minutes, with half the time being spent running the trimmer.

Do you ever worry about someone walking up and stealing your camera ? I mean you leave it on tri-pods I’m assuming and I would think someone may just see it without busy working and you can’t hear or your back may be turned and they could just grab it and run. But then again the town I live in California is ummm let’s call it tweaked central and anyone living here always says it’s just a crap town so trusting people here is not something you can do unless you find a good neighborhood and luckily we have by moving to the outskirts of town in this little suburb area and where my neighbors all know each other and make sure to look out for one another.

cheryl/sheryl sounds like a great customer....nothing lasts forever, unfortunately, but it all contributes to the people we become... are you saying you stopped taking care of her because you moved to tulsa? i love those customer experiences that teach you alot about business ( or even about life ), especially when it's the customers themselves who want to see you not shoot yourself in the foot ( or both feet depending how green you are ) with pricing. at least half of my people used to ask me "are you sure?" or "do you want more?" when i first started out 😂🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️🤦‍♂️ now i don't hear that so much anymore 🤣🤣😳😳 although i'm still not on the crazy high end of pricing. brother, i've mowed large lawns with 22's, and stupid _huge_ lawns with 48's 😂 and personally i couldn't justify charging for my time, because i knew the properties were way bigger than the mowers i was using. now, if i'm doing something crazy huge with my rider, that's a different story ( although, technically i could be running a 96, or a 15ft mower, but i don't have the money for that 🤣 ). ...i feel like going to the church and playing drums..... 🤔 i think i might be going to the church to play drums 😂...have to be quiet, though, because it's after midnight.

she was awesome the numbers just didnt make since so i passed it off to another lawn care company in the area. I have had many people say the same things to me as well and just like you i dont hear it very often anymore. I dont think my prices are high but some people think so. its cool that you play drums. my dad is a really good drummer I grew up in the band and local party scene. In all honesty i think it was really good for me because i looked at all the drinking and drug use and just thought to myself NOPE NOT FOR ME hahaha. my dad plays at the church now as well

@@LawnCareJuggernaut 😂😂 i occasionally get the "too high" line too, but i suspect those people are....i'll be nice and say _frugal._ it's good you had the opportunity to witness and just say no. that was me with cigarettes, i realized what the second hand did to my lungs and it gave me migraines when i was a kid and i wanted nothing to do with it. i've done some light beverage partying in my day, but i'm not big on that either. my dad was a singer ( he still tries 😂 though his health isn't great ), and my uncles cover the other bases ( it's just that drums are what got me first, but i later got into guitar and bass too ); they even had a little bar band going years ago. music is in my blood, and i love it. of course i mainly attend church for The Word and Fellowship, but frankly it is also an opportunity to rock out hone the musical chops 😂
