Due to health issues, I am no longer able to cut my grass, but some neighbors volunteered to do that for me & they will not take any money. They say it is something they want to do for me. So when I go to the mountains in the Fall & the peach orchards in the Summer, I always bring them some. My sister raises chickens who are layers & she gives me about a dozen eggs from time to time to give to these helpful people. Post 10 what you are doing is just an extension of what you do when you clean out the drains & culverts. What a great service you do!

I can't believe what you just said about mowing the lawn once a week. Where I live, if you don't mow AT LEAST once a week, then you might as well bale the grass because there will be so much cut grass on top of the mowed grass. I usually have to mow every 4 to 5 days.

That 94 mower has a Tumcumseh in it. I have a Lawn Boy with a Tumcumseh from 2008, looks exactly the same as far as primer and air filter. Keep the oil changed every year and have replaced the ignition coil but it starts first pull. I fortunately have access to ethanol free gas, 90 octane, which I run in all my small engine equipment and it makes a HUGE difference as far as gummed up carbs and stale gas. I had my motorcycle in storage 3 or 4 years (don't remember, at least 3). After putting a new battery in it, started right up like normal. The gas did smell but I ran it anyway. If you can get E0 (0% ethanol/ethanol free) it's what you want. Don't need no stabilizers, blah blah, and all that crap to store over off seasons. A tip on the primer, and this is what I've found. 3 times is fine, but press it in and hold it for a second, then let it out. press, hold 1 sec, press, hold 1 sec, press, hold 1 sec. Pull and it's starts.

My father has a snowblower and leafblower from the 1980’s and they still work magically. The leafblower blows leaves 2 feet high effortlessly 10 feet back. A thin layer of leaves will be cleaned in only 1 pass. The snowblower can eat through 3 feet of snow no problem, it tosses it about 8-10 feet too depending on the slope of the chute. Those machines work better than anything nowadays

We had a Nike missile site six blocks from our house growing up (It's pronounced just like the shoes). They tore out the infrastructure back in the late 70's. We got into the actual silos after they were abandoned and before they tore them down. There was also a prison for prisoners of war nearby that we explored. The missile site was disguised to look like a farm, and the farmhouse was the launch control area.

Planet ... many of those sites were only for early warning radar and had nothing but electronic gear. The one near me (Wilton Ct) was repurposed for a radio station by 1970 and today has a bunch of other communications gear, including FD / PD radio, and cell service. Also, most are located on a high point within a geographic area. Recall someone mentioning they are basically within so many miles of the coast and maybe 10 -20 miles apart. The other one I know of is in Westport Ct. All seem to have used the round foundation and roof due to the radar dish that was mounted on top, running in a track on the outer edge, rotating from a central pivot point.

AND all the overgrown crap around and in the trees. AND my disabled ass can start it with one pull :) I use it now every week to keep the grass around my gray water sprinklers short, even if I don't mow the entire yard...and I have a big riding mower for the rest of the yard. 2 acres never sounds like much until you have to mow it! I'm in my 60s and have never bought a lawn mower. All have been someone else's "throw away" that just needed some TLC. Same goes for any yard tools and garden hose.... all were a gimmie!

Have a cub cadet lawn tractor 2013 after 300 hours the axel broke need to replace whole trans axel. Total crap machine. Had my dads 1973 craftsman garden tractor he let it set for 10 years i got it running. A shaft on the mower spline was stripped could not get parts. The cub cadet service center told me yea 300 hours is all they last incredible MTD makes most lawn tractors.
Everybody was SCARED to knock on this door BUT NOT ME!!!
