AirCross Gimbal: cheesycam.tv/A...
Here's a look at one my favorite lightweight gimbals for popular small cameras such as the Panasonic GH4, GH5, GH5s, or even the Sony A6500. The Moza AirCross is lightweight, packs up small, but most importantly has performed flawlessly over the last several months on every project i've used it on. In fact a few of my friends who have tried this gimbal with their GH5 cameras have also opted to switch to the Moza AirCross.
The Moza AirCross can support payloads of up to 4lbs which is enough for most mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras using native lenses. The AirCross has a 12 hour battery life, but as an option you can power your camera from the gimbal using a dummy battery adapter. Taking it one step further, you can actually power the gimbal from an external 12V battery if for some reason you think you'll need unlimited runtime.
One thing I didn't touch on in my video is the Moza Assistant smartphone App. This app has a nifty feature that allows you to use the Moza AirCross for 2-Axis motion control timelapse.
As you switch between a lighter or heavier payload, the Moza AirCross also has built in Auto-Tuning to eliminate any vibration or oscillations normally caused by too little or too much power to the motors. The wireless remote utilizes accelerometers and Gyros. These built in sensors allow the remote/gimbal to mimic the movements of the operator. Just by physically moving the remote you can control Pan, Tilt, and Roll from up to 50 meters away. If you're working with the smaller camera setups (under 4lbs), I see no reason why you shouldn't consider the Moza AirCross.

that would be sweet on the came-tv cable cam. I just got that and am planning to use the gopro fusion on it for overcapture framing later... but this gimbal would be sweet with that motion for tracking during cable cam use...

Can you review Inception mode (unlimited 360 roll rotation in flashlight mode) ? The gimbal needs an update to have this new feature. Thanks.

Can you comment on the BMMCC using this gimbal? That is a combo I'd be really interested in and since you've rigged a BMMCC in your other videos I'm assuming you can provide direct feedback on the combination of the two.

Another great product review 🙌🏽🔥🔥🔥 I’ve been looking into the Ronin S for its weight capacity but I enjoyed watching this regardless lol!
@MrCheesyCam
@MrCheesyCam 6 жыл бұрын
The performance of this little gimbal has been rock solid. I see no reason to use a heavier gimbal when working with my GH5 cameras. I would only look into the Ronin S if I was working with a heavier camera setup. Otherwise it just feels like it would be unnecessary weight, for similar performance.

Understood. Thanks for the insight! I'm using the a7Riii and Rii with 16-35 GM and 35 1.4 with quick release and Tiffen Vari ND on my Crane v2 lol! It's barely holding up but still works when shooting slo mo. Would you consider this Ronin S worthy or am I still good with a smaller gimbal?
@MrCheesyCam
@MrCheesyCam 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah the Crane 2 will struggle with the A7RIII and GMaster lenses. The Ronin-S is slightly bigger than the Crane, but it's almost to the point where you could just go with the larger Ronin M or MX. The Ronin-S will get heavy after a short while and you'll need a two hand grip, so it's a little bit of an odd ball.

Welp, that answers that lol . I did hear through the grapevine that Zhiyun is releasing a new gimbal so... I guess I should wait for that??
@MrCheesyCam
@MrCheesyCam 6 жыл бұрын
Lol, zhiyun releases a gimbal every week seems like. Good products, but something like the GH5 or A6500 the Crane 2 is too big, and the Crane-M is too small. This Moza is a good fit and weight for me.

I've been waiting for you to review this. Do you feel these lighter weight gimbals are just has good as the heavier ones? Meaning those micro vibrations
@MrCheesyCam
@MrCheesyCam 6 жыл бұрын
I have an article on my website. Micro vibrations are caused by the motor having too much or too little power to the motors. This changes whenever you change the amount of weight the gimbal is stabilizing. This Moza AirCross (like the DJI) has Auto Tuning. So once you have your camera balanced, you can opt to use the Auto tuning feature which measures the weight of the camera and adjusts the power settings. I typically use the same setups all the time, so I rarely have to tune the gimbal. The entire American Force shoot was with the 7-14mm or the 8-18mm lens on a GH5.

You will need gopro karma grip for that. Its better for the gopro as it was designed just for the gopro cameras. Also u do not need to balance the camera and its very easy to use. Its also as good as this one.but the moza air will not work for your gopro camera. Ps check my chanel for the videos limassol and gopro hero 7 i've used the gopro + karma grip. And soon i will post with moza air as well:) hope that helps

My classmate told me that it is not very good operation, sometimes it is a sudden power failure.
@MrCheesyCam
@MrCheesyCam 5 жыл бұрын
Sudden power failure? Hmm. So the gimbal has a feature that shuts off if it is under too much load. This happens if the camera isn’t balanced properly or too heavy. Some people use zoom lenses, and when they zoom in and out the balance is not right. This may cause the system to shut off by itself, but really this is a protection feature. Otherwise he may have a bad battery. There are several rechargeable batteries that go inside the handle. If one of those batteries is not good, then that will cause problems too. If balnce or weight is not the problem, I would start by getting a new set of batteries.
