Moza FSR Wheel Review - Beautiful But Limited

A review that I hope ages badly. The Moza FSR looks brilliant and carries a generous screen, but when you start using that display you may be disappointed. Whilst it's a handsome wheel, you shouldn't buy it for the screen....yet.
Here's to hoping Moza soon unleashes the screen and puts the power into the hands of the customers. If that happens, the FSR will be a winner.

I'd love the screen if it was: flush, OLED and yes, SimHub compatible.

Appreciate the review mate. Moza really need to make the displays compatible with simhub. May i ask, have you done any more looking into the pithouse ffb settings? 🍻

I still use the same settings, but I cranked the ABS vibration in the EQ to 300% to make it more distinct - helps in GT3's to stay out of it

It's small, but it's a formula wheel, the wheel you want is the GT one, the GS. Wheels for diferent cars.

Considering that this is the only GT style wheel w/display under 700 euros out there, this is just nitpicking.

I wouldn't say so - the screen is hamstrung by choice and is nowhere near as effective, versatile and satisfying for the consumer as other display units with simhub compatibility etc. As the screen is such a large part of the FSR's appeal at first glance, it's really important to know that in its current state it is not equal to other wheels with open-platform onboard displays.

@@dannyleeracing Youre missing the point here man.. its 700 euros which is at least HALF what other wheels with display cost. You cant nitpick about stuff like that with this price. Well you can of course but then youre not being very reasonable. You dont buy a cheap car and complain as it lacks the features the more expensive cars have, same damn thing.

This is a formula wheel, if you want a GT one, get the GS.

Unless your sim rig is setup like the real deal you don't really need a wheel with a screen its all on the monitor or in your vr headset, but it does look great. The Size is what some may like over the GT version.

depends on you seating position. If you sit like in GT you are right it isn't really worth it but if you sit lower in a formula style the dashboard is actually really useful as I can say from experience

I like to turn as many on screen elements off as I can. They all ruin the look of it for me. It drive me nuts (in a light hearted “why don’t they do it!?” way) when people don’t turn their virtual mirror off in private practice 😅 If I could have it all display on my wheel, I’d be much happier.

Yep, it's the PRIME - loving it, especially with integrated triple monitor mount and castor wheels, the whole lot moves around if needed and it's rock solid

@@DanMorera The PRIME is, I think, the best full-size profile rig for the money. Trak Racer rigs do look smart, but they're fussy to build! Also use discount code DANNYLEE for 5% off GTO, in case you didn't know!

This smaller size 28cm wheel will be very twitchy unless you increase steering linearity or gamma ingame

I agree - 320mm is the PERFECT size, 300mm is fine, 280-270mm are too small imo

Not really! As of my last check, the screen is still limited to predefined displays with no real customisation, you just have to use what Moza gives you.

Fair analysis. The other drawback is the way to switch from one screen to an other by using the clutch pad ...

Yeah, that could be changed to another key combo - it's one of the more likely things you would want to change on the fly so it would make sense if they swapped that key combo with one of the other functions that you'd never need on the go (like changing max steering angle)

I am sure they will - they've put a lot of effort in so far but now need to listen to user feedback and satisfy the biggest wishes of the people buying the kit, that's the recipe for success.

I'm sure they too would love a slice of the console pie - trust me, if they could, they already would! Sony are protective of what they allow to work with the PS
