Wonderful, his sound, although aggressive to some, is not hollow. Its richly textured and possesses warmth, and for me this is a defining quality that separates truly great violinists from the many “celebrities” who pepper the Earth and show off their superior technical skills, which are only one half of what makes a good violinist in my opinion (and I would hope I would know a good violinist when I see one as a violinist myself😂). So yes, while I would perhaps play this concerto a bit more delicately, his booming interpretation is still magnificent to me, reminding me of church bells ringing at full force! Forza!!! 🤩

Im so happy to see your channel again, It's a shame that KZfaq took you down earlier, I loved seeing your fabulous videos of all possible violinists, a piece of advice: save every video you post because I'm sure that KZfaq will take you down again

@@olahvilmos567 Thank you very much for your informative reply. In Mozart's 4th violin concerto (recorded in Leipzig (I believe around 1968/69) David Oistrakh plays his own cadenzas, as well as in concerto no. 3 with Philharmonics. I haven't now the opportunity to check about the concerto in Sweden as my tablet has lost the sound, and I haven't ben able to find it on my computer, but as far as I remember, he used his own cadenzas also there. I'm not quite sure... And many thanks for replying!
