I usef Drift Ghost cams for a few years but the stabilazion was not so great. Im now using DJI A4 on my last trip and it worked great. The magnetic mount in the DJI is genius!

Hmmm, the magnet mount? Is the magnet strong enough to handle moto - vlogging over rough terrain? Or is it more than just "magnet"?

@@Jason_MotoPhotoAdventures initially it's a magnet but has two clips that also attach the camera. Easy enough to pull the cam off with gloved on. Yes, it can handle rough terrain. I just got back from 2k miles of dirt riding and the mount stayed secure. The only failure I had was the chin mount tape gave up. I actually caught the camera in my left hand while riding!😁

A vote for the DJI Osmo Action 4 from me. Apart from great video, battery life and the compact format, I love the DJI Mic 2 transmitter connectivity without need for a separate receiver and the reassurance of a twist-off, replaceable, lens protector. But then, I just needed a rugged action camera which I was not convinced the Insta360 ActionPro, with its flip-up screen and non-removeable lens protector, would prove to be.

GoPro got me on this last trip, lost or missed a ton of great video. Insta360, DJI pocket 3, and DJI action are the current go to. I'll still use my hero 12 as a rear cam or extra, but it has been freezing on me lately and have to remove the battery to fix it. GoPro 13 better be the most amazing thing since sliced bread or they are toast!

Ditched all my GoPro stuff (Cameras, batteries, remotes...) as they had too many problems that they just shouldn't. Action 4, simply brilliant. Better battery life and just works all the time every time! DJI Mic 2 is great to have in helmet with camera still water tight. Also have a 360 x3 for other shot angles. Remote for each on handle bars.

Sounds like a great setup, man! Briliant move having the DJI Mic 2 in the helmet. How long does the battery last...and how do you have it attached? In a perfect world, do you wish both the 360 and action cameras were the same brand so that you could use one remote for both? Or are you fine with tapping two remotes to start recording?

@@MotoPhotoAdventures Mic battery seems to last a full day, although I think it goes to sleep after a while, haven't figured that out yet. Mic clip is metal and comes with a 1cm square magnet, which I have taped in the chin area. I slide the mic in and out. Adventure helmet has enough room, although the dead cat does tickle sometimes LOL. I can see how you sync your recordings. For me I find having 2 angles of the same thing is not that appealing. So I often use them to record different things. The 360 for general or angels where I'm not looking, the Action 4 on the helmet for point of view shots. Sometimes I use them both and select one in the edit. The files are date and time stamped to align them. The 360 takes about 9 seconds to start recording. The Action 4 about 1-2 max. However the remote and Action 4 goes to sleep, so you have to press the remote to come out of sleep to start recording and this can take a little while. The Action 4 pack I got comes with a 3 battery charger and 3 battery's. So they are on charge from home and 2 are always in the charger charging in my tank bag. What more would you like to know? (Like your adventures BTW).

Maybe it won't be so bad for us to have two different remote controls afterall. Do you have the remote for the Insta360 X3? I was wondering if it goes to sleep as well like the DJI? Yes have the remote for the 360 X3 and it doesn't go to sleep, but the battery will run out at the end of long days, so either have a USB charging cable, or charge during a lunch break. It also will sometimes not reconnect after a battery change. Easy enough to reconnect (from the camera), but you need to check before leaving.

By now you know I'm cheap. I've been using action cameras from AKASO that are less then $100. I know the image quality is lower, but if you have no image that's not really a factor. I do use brand name SD Cards. I'm sure you know that SD card failures are common. I would recommend software from Steve Gibson for maintaining SD cards, hard drives and SD drives. His no charge software will confirm capacity of drives.

I think that we You Tubers, especially those of us with smaller channels (I am one of those) get caught in the trap of thinking that having the best camera or getting amazing shots are going to make the difference. Unfortunately that isn't true. Some of the most successful channels shoot very simply. @PeterSantenello, @ItchyBoots, @Wonderhussy, @HerTwoWheels. What these channel do, is tell interesting stories and they are compelling to watch. Some are attractive women and that of course helps (nothing I can do to take advantage of that one). For me, I am going on a trip or an adventure and that is the primary objective. Yes, I will document it and share it on my channel, but if filming the trip is so complicated that is takes away from the adventure, then I am done. Documenting the trip needs to be easy and fun. Most of the time time I can do that with a single camera and my cell phone, and I get just as many views as I did when I was using multiple cameras. People just do not care as much about the quality of our footage as we would like to think. Keep it simple. Just my two cents.
