Let's take a break from Energy Management and do some multimedia. This Bestjoy remote controller is can not only control different IR, BT, or RF devices but also easily integrate with Home Assistant through an M-Bridge MQTT gateway. In this video, I configure it to control my LG TV (that is natively integrated into the Home Assistant). But then, I use MQTT to control my 20 years old Denon Receiver through Home Assistant.
So this shows both the configuration of the Bestjoy remote, as well as the Home Assistant Automation.
At the end, I show how everything works seamlessly.

This is a wonderful walk-through of this device and process. I'm still new to the Home Assistant space and MQTT, but I'm sure I will refer to this as I get more experience. Thank you for this and your other videos. They are always well thought out and presented. Your work is appreciated!

Honestly, there is too much app and too much cloud for something which should be purely local. Too much for me at least.

I do not think the remote talks to the internet. It uses BT for the TV. And for the M-Bridge it uses MQTT that is local as well. I suppose for the configuration, yes. But I do that once, then I do not need it. Or did I miss something?

@@bruxy70 Hhow would you configure devices if Bestjoy discontinues the setup service?

@@RJMaker the configuration of what the buttons do is done in HA. So probably there.
