Me too! I got the pleasure of returning to live with my widowed Mother after a successful 40 year career in Nursing. I lost my eyesight and was forced to leave my job and move in her big house (my childhood home) and Mom passed 1 year short of her 90th birthday, 4 years after I arrived home! (My Dad had past in 2002). At first we “tolerated each other”, then became the best of friends! When I suggested she go to the hospital (after having multiple CT scans, MRI’s etc which showed basically nothing! Yet, that hospital admission was the last one I saw her. I was called the Sunday before Christmas in 2016, by the ICU doctor saying she’s not long for this world. She went in for a UTI! My niece has gone up and snuck by the nurses station and heard her pray to St Joseph (who’s the patron Saint for a peaceful death! Later early the next morning. I was scrambling to get her priest to go give her the last rites and he beat me to the hospital! I was also her POA & Advanced Directive holder and I said (with tears in my eyes) said “Just make her comfortable please and take the positive pressure O2 that was connected as she was very restless. They did and since it was double pneumonia so bad she was septic and experiencing kidney shutdown ago I knew what was coming. The doctor said (even after CT scan & MRI her ENTIRE week & months before, had had massive pneumonia! Being a nurse she has NO signs nor symptoms of pneumonia! No cough, shortness of breath, etc. I left her to pass to Daddy who was in heaven waiting for her! My last words were for her kids and her dearly departed Husband that she loved just like Betty had. The gave her 2 mg morphine IV & she peacefully went to sleep! As I stood by the bedside as my sister and her two grandkids by my sister wailed over her body! I only had a very patient and loving doctor comfort me as I couldn’t get them away from here! I knew as soon as I walked in the room the signs of impending death. God bless them both! And Betty! She’s finally reached her beloved Alan! Los (my mom) met her special Edward! Thank goodness those are times I will NEVER get back. It’s like losing my mom all over again! Rest well, long sleep to Betty & her loved Alan! 💜💖💔

UTI's are the enemy of the elderly and infirm. At many pharmacies, there are tests you can do at home to check for UTI's, just something to think about.

I love Betty white and know she is with Allen again but you can't ignore his first wife who he was married to for 18 years and the mother of his 3 kids who he also loved very much and is in heaven with her for 40 years. Betty wasn't the only love of his life
