YOU BOUGHT A GRINDER and a knock box! Yay! The knock box works well for the portafilter that have a tight spring to hold the filter baskets in (breville or delonghi are good examples). Also, you really should try a MEDIUM roast to make espresso and not just dark roast. There is no written rules to what coffee roast is best as it comes down to personal preference - but what i can tell you is look for beans from a local roaster and to not buy in bulk. Coffee can actually goes stale after a couple weeks believe it or not.

Just bought one of these in England, (branded breville here) fantastic little machine... Its considerably cheaper here though, tech often is though and im not sure why.

I have this one but previously had the barista . I liked the barista because it had a holder for the portafilter. And also getting my cup out once is full was easier than this model I have to tilt my cup and inevitably spill some every single time.

I have the model that's in between (the non-plus one-touch coffee house) and they honestly seem like they do the exact same thing in the exact same way. Did they specify that there were any differences other than the outer shell? Also, while it is usually best to use a fine grind, this has what is called a pressurized porta-filter which means that the grind size and tamping doesn't really matter. These types of porta-filters come in machines geared towards people who may be new to espresso. They remove a lot of the complex variables in pulling shots, which is why it's as easy as a touch on these machines.

not yet but it uses the smaller original line nespresso pods, you can get a single or double shot with them, and it has an automtic milk fother. it looks like it would make a great drink and a lot less work than this machine.

It’s me again, DrWho…I’ve contacted you before regarding your recommendation regarding automatic espresso machines and you wrote back stating to go with Mr Coffee Coffee House. I watched your comparison of this one and the plus (back to back comparisons). I’m stuck between the two, so I’m curious…if you had to purchase between the two today (August 2023) which would be your choice? Thanks again…BTW, I’ll be using the Kitchen Aid bean grinder (red) that I purchased after watching your video review back in December 2022 for grinding the espresso at setting 60.

with this machine you will feel like a barista, you have to put in the coffee grounds, tamp it an and then clean it all up. it can be fun, the other one is a lot less work.

I was debating between this and the Nespresso I ended up with this and I’m supposed to receive it this week. I just didn’t wanna have to use pods. I feel like you’re limited where this you have a little bit more freedom and less waste in my opinion, this review makes me super happy to try. can’t wait.

Awesome stuff! I just bought one in gray! Does the manual froth button work while the dial is turned on clean mode? Just curious to see if it can steam the glass real quick to melt chocolate.

Question! I have the previous One Touch model #BVMCEM7000DS. Is the “pre-program” on my machine the same as the status bar on yours? My manual doesn’t mention the “pre-program”. Called the company; rep was nice but didn’t know the machine, was reading the manual to find answers. Also told me to use standard grind coffee.

Your "find grind" isn't very fine - I wouldn't call that an espresso grind.

It doesn't matter. The video was for presentation purposes of the coffee maker, and not how to grind coffee for espresso. Just enjoy the video. :)

It does matter. You are not getting espresso with the grind you were shown. The Mr. Coffee grinder he is showing simply cannot provide the proper functionality for an espresso grind - so you won't get the flavor of espresso. It's a misrepresentation.

@@bryanirvine6169 No, it's not. The video was not for making espresso coffee. It was to demonstrate the coffee maker. And, in case you are not aware, it uses a pressurized porta filter, where the grind size doesn't matter as much. He didn't even have to tamp as long as the coffee was below the line. If he was using a non pressurized porta filter, this is where the grind size truly comes into play because it's the actual coffee that is providing the pressure, and not the pressurized porta filter.
