No one will deny how Randy was able to find notes beyond this universe; with that said, Jake's solo here is absolutely majestic. If you're not sure whether or not Jake should be remembered as one of greatest rock guitarists of all time, then you should listen to this solo again.

@Kurt Barlow Never cared for Randy Rhoads. He was a shredder that follows Classical guitar theory and techniques. It doesn't have the feel that Toni Iommi, Jake E. Lee and Zakk Wylde have because they are more Blues and Rock based. Black Sabbath was Black Sabbath but listen to Jake play Lightning Strikes, Shot In The Dark. Jake was great, but he had that glam vibe which got old. Zakk Wylde was the next best thing in Ozzys band and proved that by producing the number one selling Ozzy album. The dude is untouchable in speed and he was respectful of Randy by avoiding classical guitar. Jake was glam, Gus was a big fat mistake who had no real influence to offer the guitar world, and he played classical in ozzy which I found offensive considering Zakk knowing that was the forbidden fruit. I’m so happy Zakk is back with ozzy and ever since I met him backstage at ozzy for a meet and greet/Wylde audio guitar package, he blessed me after our small talk on Randy Rhoads by playing I don’t know and Mr Crowley on the guitar I got!!!!! Even Dimebag knew Zakk was the best on a six string👑

I remember reading that this was the result of some keyboards not arriving in time or something akin to that. Jake basically worked it out about half an hour before the show. Absolute fucking god-like.

Mr Crowley has an iconic solo, but the funny thing is - I always liked Jakeys live versions better than the original. Personal preference I guess.

I love Jake, but never got to see him live with Ozzy. I saw the Diary tour when I was 12 and that was the catalyst for me to start playing guitar. A couple of years later I was also a huge fan of Brad Gillis doing the SOTD album. So good. Fast forward about 15-20 years and I saw Ozzy again. When the band came out, I was expecting to see Zakk, but instead saw this other guy come out with a strat. No clue who he was, but he looked like John Frusciante from my perspective at the time. Dude tore the roof off the place. Tone and riffs dialed...one of the better guitar players I had seen up to that point. Of course I find out later It's Joe Holmes. Fuckin amazing. Ozzy could sure pick em.

Holmes was great! I've only seen Ozzy once, and he absolutely nailed everything!

I caught Jake with Red Dragon Cartel early in their first tour. He hadn't lost a single step. What a player. Got to hang with him a little bit too. Very cool dude.

I may be the only one to say this, but thank you for UL'ing the whole song. Most people would just post Jake's intro and just leave it at there, so this is great, thanks again! 🙂🙂🙂

Jake is my favorite Ozzy guitarist. He is fucking phenomenal in this live version of Mr. Crowley. Insanely brilliant fretboard mastery here! Does anyone know a link to the most current Rolling Stone top 100 rock guitarists of all time? I wanna see where Jake is on the list.
