Oh yeah I noticed that in someone else's video with Knut Futa when they aged him to a toddler. It seems like the basic script still works to change the Sim into whatever pjs they have even with an adult body.

Hah it's funny because when I play The Sims 2/3 normally I generally just stick to whatever storyline I've come up with without distractions and a lot of the gameplay is fairly basic (although I definitely used to play GTA that way like just get bored and run people over and other crazy stuff before reloading the game,) but a few months ago I found an old Sims 2 neighbourhood folder of mine from around 2009 with a bunch of screenshots so I was looking through them and found this weird gothic child Sim who had trapped a burglar in the basement with the Resurrect-O-Nomitron and had resurrected him as a zombie and there were custom content syringes and stuff or something like that around lol... (Not sure now but some kind of medical decoration I think.) I think at some point that burglar had robbed their house and the child Sim had no nice points so I made her an evil Sim or something like that. But I'd completely forgotten as it had been so long.

@@CalipersandTongs In 2020, I had a cowplant in my household, so I had the couple in the household kill a bunch of townies to be immortal, but eventually, I felt guilty about killing so many sims, so I had the couple get eaten by their own cowplant and then got rid of the cowplant. I attempted to bulldoze the house with the cowplant on it and that’s how I accidentally bulldozed the entire graveyard instead. (I thought it was fitting for them to live next to the graveyard.)

Yeah it was a really useful video and it was good to know that a lot of stuff I assumed caused corruption actually didn't. It makes sense though since at one point in 2011 I killed off 100ish Sims and deleted most of those gravestones to experiment and nothing has happened since.

It might be! He didn't seem to die from anything else I tried even using mods to try all the death types but if he can age up that way it would make sense for him to die unless he's immune somehow (which the universal NPC's might be tbh.) I didn't test out his elder form in the end because I got tired of removing days lol but I might try that later.

I managed to kill him in the end by using the insimenator to gradually age him one day at a time until he died of old age. Was kind of a long/boring process though lol. The cowplant death would be more interesting but I guess he'd have to be distracted for long enough to try and get the cake. The fire distracts him but only while he's reacting to it. I dunno if he'd go for the cake afterwards. It's possible that by modding the cowplant to be autonomous + instant that could work (if that's possible.) I noticed that Rod will change his clothing instantly no matter what he's doing when you use the insimenator and that happens straight away and doesn't get added to the Sim's queue. Same could be true of any death type I guess if it's made to be instant. Although maybe not the fire death using the insimenator to make him vulnerable to fire didn't seem to do anything.

@@CalipersandTongs Yeah, With the way Rod acts it seems impossible for him to be able to be distracted to get the cake. I had the same issue with the Grim Reaper and now I might have to try your strat (I don't know when though since my laptop went kaboom and I lost my save. Although I have a very old back up that onedrive saved, but this was before I really started to commit to corrupting my game so I lost everything. I guess at some point i'll move the onedrive files out of the EA folder and then try to kill Grim via a fresh install and then uninstall the game right after...or maybe i'll reinstall all of my owned packs, try to kill Grim and then see what happens to my game if I succeed.) PS: If you ever decide to mess with the Grim Reaper yourself, I highly recommend the mod "Hello Darkness My Old Friend" it keeps Grim on the lot after he reaps a soul like in the Sims 3 and 4, and if you happen to have a glitched household where npcs do not leave he will be stuck which will make messing with him even easier. (The Grim Reaper will be obsessed with the toilet, bar and TV though, and they will only want to interact with those objects, and I could not get them to do much else, but I found that you can age him up and down after he is done interacting with one of those objects, and you can edit their appearance and name with Sim Blender and that was how I ended up with a goth child, and then with Barbie.)

Thanks for the tip I was definitely planning on eventually messing with the Grim Reaper and killing him for a video, but I'm going to save that for after I've covered the other NPC's. It seems appropriate to save him for last lol.

So far I haven't really seen anything that I would label obviously game corruption although Mrs Crumplebottom did end up with a broken grilled cheese lifetime want in one hood (I think that might be classified as corruption. It is when it happens with memories at least, but as the lifetime wants are generated on a neighbourhood level it seems like that would still be classed as hood corruption.) I started this series because I'd read some weird (though mostly unverified) accounts of game corruption and wanted to see if I could get something similar to happen by messing around with stuff. Like one person said that they had objects in their game that walked by a lot and were acting like regular Sims. I can't imagine how this would happen though or if it's even really possible. Closest thing I've seen visually is a screenshot at 0: 29 in this video where a Sim seems to be mountain dew but that could just be some weird clothing mod that turns Sims into mountain dew. Either way that's a modded object: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/n7imdLSEy5a2mJc.html Also I wanted to see if it was actually possible to corrupt or break the game by doing these things but so far I've only had to install one pack (the holiday one,) while messing with Father Time. As for neighbourhood corruption that actually seems more obvious to me like what happened with Blightgate and all the Sims data getting mixed together. That sort of thing seems to happen due to crashes or other issues while saving/or generating the hoods. Nothing similar has happened with the game objects package for me so far (and those files don't get written to unless you're messing with the universal NPC's anyway and it saves to the object package file at random times too like when you change certain clothing of universal NPC's.) Very little has been written about game corruption compared to hood corruption (besides anecdotes I've stumbled on,) which was part of why I wanted to mess around with that to test things.

I did manage to kill him in the end by gradually increasing his age using the InSimenator mod until he died of old age (I have a short video on my channel showing his ghost and elder form,) but even as a ghost he still just keeps doing the same scripted routine lol.

If you play any of the lots one of the corrupted stray pets will probably come by within a couple of hours of playing I think and there's also a lot in the woods where I moved some of the corrupted pets in (although if you don't move a regular Human Sim into the lot with them the pet adoption people will keep trying to come round to take them away since they're recognised as pets by the game. You can get rid of the pet adoption NPC's I think though temporarily, but I forget how.) Edit: There are also a bunch of corrupted uni dormies and secret society members too (also Tiffany Sampson who became a townie after corruption,) but it's less obvious. They've just had their skin tones and genders swapped. Also Kevin (forgot surname,) obviously has a bunch of corrupted wants.

I haven't tried that but I think he'd still leave after a while because when I trapped him inside he eventually disappeared.

I was for a while but stopped around April last year when I started doing the game corruption stuff instead of just neighbourhood corruption (which it turns out isn't that big of a deal anyway lol.) Now I'm mostly playing The Sims 3 for regular gameplay. Although I did briefly 'play' The Sims 2 a few months ago to test out how long the Roth family could survive with free will alone (until the fridge runs out of food it turns out.) My plan was to reinstall the game with the ultimate collection when I finished this YT series and start playing normally again. I wanted to do that anyway because I'm missing a bunch of the stuff packs with the disc installation I'm using, and this also means that there are some cool custom content lots that I wanted to download and can't install because I'm missing those packs. I did underestimate how long it would take to finish this series though with all the things I wanted to try. I only stopped playing normally as a precaution because I didn't want to emotionally invest in Sims or neighbourhoods that might be damaged by this but tbh from what I've noticed any changes will only effect the NPC you're messing about with and really aren't that large scale. Not much has ever been written about game corruption so I took it quite seriously to be safe but that doesn't seem to be how it works. From a technical pov I don't think there are too many issues for regular gameplay as long as you have backups of the object package files and then correct any changes to the NPC's character files on the neighbourhood level (or just restore an old backup of the neighbourhood after messing about.) I also don't think there are any weird unintended issues in my game outside of the NPC's I messed with themselves. I have gone to look in other hoods to compare the NPC's in each it seems some stuff is saved on the hood level and some stuff across the entire game and then there are so many idiosyncrasies which only apply to specific Sims. The ghost form of Mrs Crumplebottom is very different to what happens to Rod Humble when he dies (perhaps death type factors in as well.) There's a kind of psychological effect for me though especially playing Blightgate or using CAS. I liked coming up with the story and the stuff I do while making videos is fun and interesting but it's still kind of unsettling. This comment is already too long though lol, so perhaps I'll talk about this one day in a video but on a technical level I believe it's mostly OK with backups.

Yeah it didn't seem to work for some reason even after clicking the option 'make vulnerable to fire.' Maybe if he'd stayed on the lot longer it might have been possible for him to die of starvation but he kept leaving.

It's about Mrs Crumplebottom's corrupted grilled cheese lifetime want and also the Bigfoot NPC (well two Bigfoot NPC's.) I've already recorded it but still in the process of editing. Probably going to end up being a long-ish video since there are two topics.
