That older kid showing up and threatening the bully is ACTUALLY VERY effective. Someone did this favor for me when I was young and easily bullied in school and my problems with my bully vanished. As a cop (last 23 years), I had to laugh, because there are two things absolutely spot on in this scene. First is that the complainant straight up lied through her teeth and accused the person she is complaining on of something he didn't do. We see that a lot, and it's one reason why for misdemeanor complaints, we just refer them to the magistrate. It's sad that the only thing protecting people from getting a criminal charge most of the time is the complainant's laziness (they tend not to follow through when they find they actually have to carry their butts downtown to speak to the magistrate), but ti's so. The second funny thing is that the cops really are quite powerless in this situation. All they have is an unsubstantiated complaint of an act they didn't witness, and they have no authority whatever to compel Ray to speak, or come inside his home against his will. It's just that most citizens don't realize that for something like this, being so totally uncooperative -- but _not_ presenting any kind of active resistance -- leaves the police no way to proceed _at all_ with a complaint like this.

Well done! First time I've seen bullying handled realistically on TV. I got bullied in elementary by a kid 2 years older than me. One day after school, I got into a fight with a kid in my class and, for some reason, the bully took it upon himself to jump in to help the other kid out by sucker punching me. Until then, I'd never met him and didn’t even know he existed. Beginning the next day, the bully would wait for me at 3 o’clock. Since the physical stuff took place after school the administrators didn't care. My parents spoke with the kid’s mother (his dad was already dead from an overdose) but that useless too. After a couple of weeks (which felt like an eternity), a friend (older than my bully by two years) met us after school and stepped in when the bully approached me. He kicked the $hit out of him in front of the whole school. He just wailed on him until he started crying. Totally humiliated him, made him apologize and threatened to come back. Guess the bully got the message because he never bothered me again.

Something similar happened when I was little. This kid from school got his brother to bully us after school. When our older cousin (2 or 3 years older then us) found out, he choke slammed the Older Brother on the sidewalk. Always give that cousin credit, even if he does some stupid shit nowadays

@ThomasFerrugia
@ThomasFerrugia Жыл бұрын
@@josefehling1134 : How nice for you! Glad you were able to get things resolved peacefully. I guess my parents just got tired of their 11 year old son being sick to his stomach every morning and not wanting to get out of bed, school administrators not giving a $hit and the bully’s mom being completely unresponsive. I’m sure it would’ve been nice for us all to have worked out a pleasant resolution that didn’t involve violence, but I guess my parents just didn’t think of me as a sociological experiment or a living example of tolerance and acceptance for the school to admire. Their child was being assaulted every single day and they had to stop it. Period. The bully’s motivations weren’t of any concern. If you had children, you might understand.

@@ThomasFerrugia i feel you! My little brother who has physical and learning disabilities, was bullied relentlessly in school, and I was ALWAYS getting into so much trouble for sorting it out.. Until I left school to go to high school, then it got a lot worse, until the bully and my brother came up to my highschool, now I thought I could keep an eye on him , wrong! Anytime this kid did or said anything to my brother Id be there in a flash, and guess who got into trouble EVERY TIME.. thats right, me! So one day I asked a few lads off my estate who were in the same year as them to do whatever it takes to make sure this buly NEVER touches my brother again.... They went a little too far and the guy was in a 4 month coma, shattered skull, bleed on the brain, multiple broken bones apparantly he was unrecognisable, . he never fucked with anyone after that and even dropped out of school... @@rockwellrhodes7703Almost right; They, as a parent, can do no wrong. The kid is just an extension of that. If they choose to deflect blame by saying the kid cant do no wrong, or if they throw the kid under the bus (sometimes even without the kid actually having done anything wrong), is dependent on the personality of the parent. Both methods are pretty common.

Had a situation of continuing vandalism at our workplace. Just local teens and their parents just brushed it off. Police said there was nothing they could do. So, I walked around with a camera taking their pictures. After a while they started asking why I was taking their pictures. I told them that we knew the police could not do anything about the vandalism they were doing but I just wanted to make sure that the people we were hiring got the right people. It all stopped immediately.

I was bullied for years by a group of boys, who had a leader. I was sensitive and smaller than he was at the time. It was PTSD type stuff that I still deal with today. Neither the school nor the parents of the kid cared or did anything about it for years (this was mid to late 70s, things were different). Then my family went to live in England for a few years, and I ended up getting put in a lower class school. It was tough but I made tough friends and I grew larger and learned how to fight a little by scrapping with these kids. When I came back to the US the bully and I ended up in the same home room, first day of school. We were each 15. He started threatening me before the teacher got there, just launched in like no years had passed at all. He told me I was finished after class got out, he was really going to f&ck me up big time this time, etc. We went into the hall, and he immediately started swinging. And then I beat him so badly that he lost an eye. The school didn't give me much discipline because they felt guilty for letting the abuse go on for so long, he started the fight (with witnesses to that effect), and his parents knew what a monster they had raised (they were monsters themselves probably), and so did everyone else, so they didn't have much success seeking restitution for their little angel, or getting me punished. This event was the only violent act I ever committed in my entire life. And I don't care what kind of family life he had that caused him to abuse me for half a decade. I don't feel bad about it at all. I rarely ever think about it, unless I come across an video such as this. And then I remember that every morning that bully wakes up, he remembers who I am, and he remembers how he earned his partial vision loss. Lesson to bullies: Stop now, because you are not always as in control of the situation as you might think you are, and you have no idea how the person you are tormenting might react on any particular day you are engaging in their abuse.

THAT is a message worth sending! I too was bullied. My Dad gave me boxing lessons and I beat up the kid across the street. At the time I felt "victorious" and happy. Not so much now. Goes to show that kids learn from their parents. Taylor's mum shows up to the door and obviously doesn't care. Doesn't even pretend to be friendly and just assumes her kid is perfect and wouldn't bully anyone. Even contradicts herself in the same sentence "Don't call me 'love', mate". Clearly thinks she's all high and mighty and above everyone else, and thinks she can use her brother's status as a cop to bully others into submission. One’s historical Aussie vernacular that applies equally to both sexes and refers to an equal bonding relationship of ‘toil’ from which the slang was developed. It’s roots and meaning make it very relevant and still widely used today. The other is condescending and chauvinistic inferring a controlling or dominant role. It’s commonly aligned with an earlier time of an unequal submissive housewife, and is used in modern times as a bonding word between partners, relatives or people in very close relationships.Used outside of this realm it is today, more often used as a derogatory slur with misogynistic connotations.

This series ran for 3 seasons and is still on Hulu. Very realistic and this actor Scott Ryan created the character Ray, the series and I believe wrote and directed a bunch of the episodes. It’s gritty, amazingly realistic in many episodes. He’s a complicated criminal and in many episodes plays a more realistic equalizer, which is a skilled violent person who is not afraid to kill people. Its classified as a dark comedy and one of the best episodes is genius funny, but still violent. The character is also a doting dad, caring caregiver, shylock, paid assassin, loyal friend and retribution specialist all rolled into one. It was riveting.

My little brother dealt with a bully for like a day. We were 2 grades apart and my lil bro used to dress like the skaters with long hair back then. Some kids were throwing rocks at him and his friend. He came up too me and asked if I could do something about it. Maaan I felt like such a badass picking up a rock and saying “wanna see how it feels?” Lmao that bully ish stopped instantly; my bro never lets me forget that moment whenever we talk about the old days. That was like 20 years ago. No one messes with my Bestfriend :)

I was bullied all through High School. In the summer just before my senior year, one of the bullies and his buddy smacked me as they walked by me in an alley. I broke the bully's knee and told his friend to tell everyone at school what had happened. My senior year was the most peaceful one, ever.

I got bullied a lot in middle and high school but had made enough changes by junior and senior year that kids basically left me alone. One day a kid who used to make fun of me (never on his own, always just as part of the group) pulled me aside to apologize for how he treated me. I knew he was not a bad person, he was just trying to fit in with the other kids. I told him it was no big deal but thanks. It was not “no big deal”. It is one of the most important memories of my youth, and one I think back on often.

I ended my bullying by beating the everliving hell out of one of my bullies. They just pushed me too far one day and I snapped when one of them tried to push me down. I broke is nose, dislocated his shoulder, and gave him a concussion. Interestingly, I didn't get punished. The school wouldn't stop the bullying, but it also didn't do anything to me when I stopped it on my own. Nobody bothered me after that day, and I got to spend my last two years of high school in peace. Bullies only respond to one thing: violence or the threat of it.

@@FoxyBoxery Yeah, he'd know about the incident if he had been there. It was a private school, and it turned into a whole thing. The parents of the bully called the police and threatened to press charges, but I had all these documented incidents where I had reported the bullying and the school did nothing, so not only could I claim self-defense but I could potentially have pressed charges against the bully and the school. Everyone in upper division (7 through 12) knew about it. It actually made the bullying problem better at the school... for a while, at least.

@@croissantlover1 Just out of curiosity what country are you from? Tbh most crimes under the age of 18 are not taken seriously lol, I'm from London and kids stab each other all the time here, they get a slap on the wrist maybe a couple years in jail at most, once they turn 18 the criminal record gets expunged so the reality is kids get away with an awful lot. Once you start getting tried as an adult, then it becomes serious. 2 kids fighting in the playground is 1 thing, 2 adult men fighting is completely different. That's how the justice system works in most countries, you continuously get a slap on the wrist lulling you into thinking you are getting away with your crimes, until that 1 day where you get the book thrown at you by the Judge and you get 20 years.

Actually, my father would if the parents were A-holes, but it was after I fought down the bully. He wouldn't wait to see how they respond, and my father was psychotic when he lost his temper. So there were a couple parents who got this shit scared out of them. When I first learned to defend myself at the age of 8, I had two bullies ganging up on me. So, he told me go after the big one. I responded, "I'm going to lose." He said, "That's right! You are not going to win and that's ok not to win. But you are not fighting to win. Your goal is pain! How much pain can you inflict on that boy before it's over." He showed me exactly what body parts to attack and don't stop punching those parts no matter. Never stop! I did lose the fight, but no one ever messed with me again. That kid was in bad shape too.

I had an interesting experience with bullies. There were are group of them in High School, with the usual leader. I was bullied a bit sophomore and junior year. I had problems, but also things to do, so I just avoided them. Escape and Evasion is a legitimate military tactic. Towards the end of junior year, the bully picked on the wrong person and ended up getting a serious beatdown. He missed school for several days and when he came back, everyone had found out. He was much less aggressive after that. I still just avoided him and his group. It inspired me later in life to take up martial arts. I trained for years: mostly Taekwondo, Baguazhang, Arnis and Tai Chi. I have not been bullied since, nor have I had to use the things I learned. I think it has a lot to do with energy, vibe, the way you carry yourself. Martial arts, boxing, that sort of stuff really helps health and quality of life well beyond resolving this issue. In some ways now, I am thankful for all of my past, these disciplines have given much more to me than I lost with a little sneaking around. When in doubt, just find a good reputable teacher and train. Boxing is a great base.

Helicopter punches, slaps across the face with lunch trays, pulling their shirts over their head and hammer on them, u name it! Just let loose man. It was not an easy thing to do by any means. I was bullied for 3 years in elementary school. It was a kid from a nearby village. He was my age but a little bigger. I never even tried to fight back, just wiped off tears and moved on every time. One day on my way home I saw this kid was watching my 2 neighbors fix their car. The second I got there, these idiots told me to fight him "to see who's stronger." Yeah, it was savage like that, it was rural Armenia in the beginning of the 90s. I had nowhere to go, no other choice left and I was soooo offended and frustrated that adults could be such fucking idiots that I beat the living hell out of this poor bastard. I never knew I had it in me. They had to literally physically restrain me or else I was gonna kill the poor fucker. Surprised with what I discovered in myself, I beat this kid again at school every day for like a week, to get my "revenge" and that was it. At such a young age I was able to cmprehend it was a bad thing to do. But thanks to that incident, I also gained ferocious confidence. Anyone would ever hurt me or a loved one, I fucking punished them on the spot. Life was easy after that.
