Not only does he know every part that Jimmy Page ever played in the studio but he can do all the different live versions as well... so he'll do No Quarter exactly as it was at Knebworth in 79 AND also play it exactly as Page did at the Forum in 72. He's amazing.

@@williamjones2803 did you know Jimmy has his OWN band, Led Zeppelin Revival? You won’t get the same drumming experience (haha) but Jimmy, in his own band, recreates shows note for note and is a MUCH more realistic and immersive experience. For instance, this year he recreated The Song Remains the Same in its 3 hour entirety. Last year I watched him play Earls Court 1975, and last year as well he performed 1972 Led Zep Live in Japan. Fantastic set of shows! Of course, I did see Led Zeppelin Evening with Bonham and the drumming was mesmerizing. Jimmy’s own band is when he dresses up as Page, though, and replicates Zeppelin note for note

I've seen this character before in videos. Imagine admiring Jimmy Page so much that you're willing to look like him and sound like him to the point where you've lost yourself in his persona because you live vicariously through him to validate yourself as a person. Then one day you wake up when you're older and you can't do it anymore and look in the mirror and you don't even know who the hell you are anymore. It is the ultimate form of flattery to Jimmy Page and the ultimate form of low self-esteem of who this guy really is. If it were me he was living vicariously through I'd have him on 24-hour notice because I would be worried he would try to stalk me. And I would put out a restraining order on him to keep him away from me within one country length.😂

I vividly remember seeing JBLZE and there was this guitarist that essentially WAS Jimmy Page circa TSRTS, but something was just slightly “off” about him. It took me a good three or four songs before I realized Mr. Jimmy was Asian, because otherwise he was so similar it was uncanny. The playing, the tone, the look, his mannerisms, they were all spot on. It was like watching mid-70s era LZ in person, especially Mr. Jimmy and of course Jason gets as close to his Dad’s playing as anyone. It still blows my mind about how much time he must have spent just absorbing Jimmy’s essence in all aspects of his persona. Anyone who loves JP and LZ should try and see a show if at all possible, you won’t regret it.
@alexandermetcalfe7750
@alexandermetcalfe7750 11 ай бұрын
I went to see them two days ago, wasn't entirely sure what I was getting into. I've seen plenty of LZ impersonation bands and understood that this wouldn't be that--Jason said it would be a celebration of their music rather than a perfect recreation (a couple songs excluded). Sure enough, they had 5 people on stage, went different directions with a couple songs, and that was all fine. It was perfectly done and a wonderful tribute. But I also pretty quickly noticed that one member was going well out their way to be an exact copy. The playing, the facial expressions, the stances... even the freaking way he quickly wiped his left hand on his side while playing open strings on his Danalectro during White Summer. Crazy, to the T accurate. I know that it must be tough to choose a setlist for an LZ concert and keep it under 3 hours, but I do wish I got to see him do Dazed and Confused, or a 25 minute Whole Lotta Love jam.

I love this! Classic rock _should_ be treated like classical music, with reverence and an eye to to detail. To many people say "oh! if you take it to the length mr jimmy obviously has then its pretty cool also a little bizarre but cool. over all i do generally prefer both to listen and play with people who do it their own way. its not out of "lazyness" its how you develop as a musician, remember jimmy page didnt endlessly copy he did things his way. and listening to people who go note for note just make me think why dont i just listen to the original...
