I'm more inclined to think that the John and Jane at the beginning of Ep1 are just one of several John and Jane Smiths and this pair decided to "retire" from the company. I'm somewhat confident that the John and Jane that did them in are the main John and Jane of the show... Edit: or not. It did look the sniper was a woman but the male shooter next to the SUV didn't look like Glover or any other John Smith in the show

Oopening with other agents of the same company in a differnt location who got tired of their job, fell in love, and decided to run away together instead of being spies to live 'happiyl ever after' .. until the fire nation attacked .. killed them and then assigned Glover & Erskine to finish the jobs these 2 were supposed to do

There are many agents with these cover names. This is more based on the original show as they both know what the other does and them being married is part of the assignment for the same company, vs the movie where they don’t know what the other really does and work for rival companies.

The 3 minutes of video that come after this clip really sets the tone for the entire show. I wish it was included here but I understand why it couldn't be. The video would be suppressed or removed. It hits harder than I thought it would. The first 6 minutes felt like the entire pig episode of Black Mirror. I had to pause and go hug my kid. *Very* realistic death effects.

@@franciscoceballos9580 Nobody should listen to critics. She's doing quite well and not everybody feels that way about her acting. People want her to do poorly, because she's gorgeous. They are distracting themselves. If you watch all of 3 body problem, she's actually quite good in comparison to other successful actors. And, the book is always better. They need to adapt to screen, which is always a difficult undertaking as well as impossible to please everyone. Let's be nice and not so negative.

This is probably another Mr and Mrs Smith (fake married couple joined together by their organization) that are killed in the continuation of this scene. Donald and Maya’s Mr and Mrs. Smith then replacing them.

Why wouldn’t she just shoot his exposed legs? And the vehicle just started up with no issue after that barrage of bullets? And don’t double check to see if he’s dead? And leave your shotgun unloaded in your house but a machine gun loaded on top of the truck wheel? And he’s killed by a sniper yet the sniper allows her to shoot up the suv before shooting her? I don’t get it….

Enjoyed the original movie but highly disliked this series. For me, the relationship drama was excruciatingly painful, drawn out, long and boring. The bickering had me totally annoyed, and the counseling sessions took over a few episodes. Would love to have seen more action sequences, and more redeeming qualities from the main characters that made me want to root for them. At the end of the day I wanted them to break up and was rooting for them to just go away. I was totally uninvested and the only person I was really rooting for was Jon’s mom.

Erskine and Glover had ZERO chemistry throughout the first season. The whole relationship seemed very forced, and it killed the first season. Won’t be watching this again…but don’t think they’ll be another season either.
