Great video, very informative. I'm always battling Phosphate and Nitrate issues, I'm a year new to saltwater tanks and I'm going the cheap route right now with a fluval 406 filter in a 36 gallon tank. Thanks for the great and informative videos you put out there for us, keep up the good work.

Glad to see Lanthanum Chloride being backed by Julian. I've used for over five years with great success in keeping phosphates down. Keep the videos coming Mark!

Great video. Julian Sprung Always comes up with great new products

lanthanum chloride has been in the hobby for ages. Look it up. Julian is just putting his name on it. You can buy 100% lanthanum chloride online cheap, drip it into a filter sock in your sump with slow flow through it, watch the phosphates fall.

Yup lanthanum chloride is not a new thing for dealing with phophate at all, that said I will not fault what Julian does, sure he may repackage and what not but he really does bring to the masses products that they may not know about, as not everyone reads various message boards and so forth. People knew about iron oxide as a way to control phosphates too, how many people used it AFTER there was an "aquarium version" of it like PhosBan? Ditto with things like 2 part solution. calcium chloride mixed in water never was a new thing.

Agree. I think its good news that someone comes out with a non-DIY product for the masses. I just want to point out (like Julian himself did) that TLF didn't just invent this method. You are very right, not everyone wants to use experimental or DIY stuff, and this is a very useful method for folks with phosphate issues.

@@DiepBlueC i love the concept but like filter socks it keeps water flowing through a nutrient medium for a month unless you program it to change more often. .

The phosphate remover binds with calcium. It is around for some time already. Keep in mind that calcium is used to percipitate the phosphate. Nice video!

That pump is nasty
@Mike__B5 жыл бұрын
A water pump by a lighting company? Sure why not, one of the more popular lights was made by a water pump company, plus those two companies did "merge". One thing of this years MACNA felt a little lacking for new stuff.

literally I didn't liked nero as it's going to crush up my clean up rew like snails so gyre is the way to go

Gyre is great until it’s time to clean it. All those vains are a PITA. Don’t know Nero but there is nothing like an MP 10, 40, 60. Workhorses for years. One of my 3 MP40’s is 12 years old. 20 minute bath in vinegar solution 3 times a year is plenty.
