"Mr. Sandman" (or "Mister Sandman") was written by Pat Ballard and became popular by Chet Atkins recording in 1954. We wanted to combine Chet Atkins fingerpicking style with our sound inspired by Django Reinhardt - so have fun watching our version of Mr. Sandman :)

Joscho is to gypsy-jazz what Paco de Lucia was to flamenco, or Tommy Emmanuel to traditional and world music. You had your original masters like Django, Sabicas and Chet Atkins come along, define the style and set precedents, and then you have a guy like Joscho who comes along and really takes the whole genre to the next level. Edit: Not to mention that massive lick at the end-it would have gave Les Paul a run for his money!

Yes Indeed. Joscho and the crew adding that gypsy swing tempo and Joscho-fied riffs to this classic. Just proves we don't always need vocals and drums to make this dream hit come back to life in 2022. Simply splendid and made my Friday extra special. Thanks again Joscho Volker and Sven. I will play this once again to put that smile on anyone's face who chooses to frown today instead and I look forward to what's ahead from these three.

Josho is guitar playing next level. It is not copying it is playing in the style of.... I was in the last decade on 5 concerts with always different members. It was precise playing with joy and phantasy. I recomand ti visit his concerts.

how refreshing , instead of trying to replicate Django , like they all do and fail ,, ive followed you fr a long while now JS abd your melodic improvisation instead of just meandering at speed up and down ,, is a treat to hear and the first thing that stuck out to me when i started following you ,, b e n d i n g notes ! no one else does it :) superb mate what a genuine nice man also ! thanks Sco :)

I love the tempo. I started on guitar at age 5 and this was my favorite song at the time, even though I couldn't play it. I love the modulations.

What a fun and admirable, and generous performance. Generous, in the sense that he is as they say in the movie business, and as I see it, presenting at least in-part, an unashamed "homage" to guitarist such as Atkins, and Merle Travis who played passages in the style Joscho so well reproduces in his own fresh, yet recognizable manner. I'm pretty familiar with, and a big fan of, some of the more well-known "Gyspy Jazz" guitarists, and this is certainly an a-typical for the genre performance which took me by surprise and had me laughing out loud.
