They should bring this back.About 31 years ago, a neighbor's child drank a bottle that had a skull and crossbones on it. He said, "Pirates!" and drank it like rum. He became violently ill, had to go to the ER, and he nearly dier. After that, his parenys slapped the Mr Yuk stickers on every non-food item, and there was no repeat.

I remember seeing this in kindergarten, specifically health class. I remember this scaring the crap out of me. I had nightmares of a tall slender, almost stick like figure, with the green mr yuck face on it. He would pour chemicals down my throat and I would die. Needless to say I never even touched anything that had one of those stickers.

I find it funny hes described as "warning you of stuff that makes you sick", but also is "mean". He seems like a good guy. Idk why you guys think he's terrifying.

I remember my Dad used to show us this commercial when I was little. I saw most Mr. Yuk stickers at the doctor's office. I learned quickly from this not to touch anything with a Mr. Yuk sticker unless I wanted a one way ticket to being sick. Never forgot it. Well, it did what it was supposed to do. It got kids' attention and showed them the reality of not being careful about what you try to eat.

When I started kindergarten in 1983, my teacher handed out sheets of Mr. Yuk stickers and told us to go home and place them on chemical bottles. I'm glad they didn't have this commercial where I lived. That would've given me NIGHTMARES!!!

In the 80's, our parents put these stickers on cleaning supplies to prevent us babies from drinking them. Parents everywhere were making serious visits to the ER if their children drank cleaning supplies which had poison in them before these stickers were invented. If children drank cleaning supplies before these "Mr. Yuk" stickers came out, their parents would yell at them and take them to the ER to get their stomachs pumped.

If Mr. Yuk scared the hell out of me back then, I can't even imagine how today's kids would react. They'd probably be traumatized. Scary psychedelic PSA's worked very well.

I remember seeing these commercials on TV when I was a child in the late 70's early 80's. These commercials gave me nightmares until I was 24. Haha. Now I have a Mr. Yuk key chain.

This PSA was so effective! My mom got some Mister Yuk stickers from our pediatrician (I think) and I can very vividly remember seeing it on cleaners and the gas can in the garage and I would always stay well away from everything it was on. And I still remember the jingle almost 40 years later. Very effective! And pretty darn terrifying lol.

I like this Psa! I don't remember it, despite the fact that I'm a child of the 70's-but even now it scares me, which is what I like about it! It scared the living crap out of me, and I didn't go on that website for about a year. A few months after I saw this, my brother decides to eat a magic eraser. My mom threatened to show us this (my brother, who was 2 at the time, saw it too), and we both freaked out. Turns out he spit it out and stuck it in a toy car. A few years ago, my baby brother tried eating dye to my brother's microscope set. I HAD to show him this. To this day, he loves the PSA.

They used to have these Mr. Yuk green scratch and sniff stickers you were supposed to put on household cleaners and stuff in the 80s. I remember they smelled like onions and black licorice or like the John waters smell cards from the movie polyester.

What if he wasn’t actually mean. What if he was just grumpy and has a strong parental instinct and only scares children in order to protect them from hurting themselves. I like that better. Although, that wouldn’t fit in the song.

I remember in preschool they gave us these stickers to put on things we shouldn’t touch, and for some reason I thought this meant the stickers were poisonous and if we touched them we would die. And for some reason I put most of them on things that I would basically touch every single day, so I kinda just had to awkwardly put my hand around it so I didn’t die. They basically just stayed there for the rest of my childhood.

I rember it was eithier 2000 or 2001 I was in Kindergarden when I saw MR Yuk the school nurse showed a big poster with the same music playing and i got so scared from it.

My mom told me about the guy in our neighborhood when he was little and he drank laundry detergent thinking it was a pirate drink since there was a skull on it and it looked like the pirate ship skull that you would see on a pirate flag and he said "Pirates!" then he drank it like rum one day later his parents discovered that he was violently ill and they had to rush him to the children's hospital because he was sick he almost died because of the chemicals in the laundry detergent but thankfully he survived and his parents started putting Mr Yuk stickers on chemical liquids

It would probably be a good idea (if this were still a big deal) to make them part of household product labels do you didn't have to keep buying new stickers Incidentally, they're also used as the desktop icon for the online MSDS catalog at my school. (MSDS stands for Material Safety Data Sheet; they catalog the dangers associated with chemicals used in science labs.)
