1963: Times of Change (A TAOS Special)

Күн бұрынThe year 1963 was a dark year for steam engines, as most were being scraped and replaced by diesels. Only a lucky few were preserved, but many were lost to the cutter's touch.
Before being withdrawn, these following engines will show their fears of being scrapped and what they do before their time is up.

The part where D261 complained about the bowler hat lodged in his tank, and said the Sodor steam engines insulted him was kind of absurd seeing as he insulted them first.

This is possibly my favorite video you've done so far! I love all the references made in this where it foreshadows what's to come after 1963, and I love all the characters you've made with each having amazing voice actors who did their parts superb! What a great story .Sounds like writer loves steam engines . I can imagine you writing stories about many engines being rescued and running on island railways..There could be a couple of islands west of Sodor that were bigger and dedicated to steam engines. Refusing to use diesels because they aren’t human like steam engines.. What happened when steam engines died young was sad . I want to imagine that the young steam engines had a place to go where they were wanted.. THANK YOU FOR THIS STORY! SO FULL OF EMPATHY

Awesome Special! I love the interaction between every single engine on all the regions of British Railways (such as LNER, LMS and SR). And also, love the references to past stories of the Railway Series/Thomas stories and episodes. Even the humor is great! Subbed BTW!

At least British railways actually gave the steam engines a chance it live up to 1955 before they started rolling out the new fangled nonsense but America on the other hand didn't care about the steamers all the cared about was innovation and by 1936 they already had deasles working on the main while steam engines were beeing put aside and worse scraped if only we could just save a few more like a new york central hudson or a penslvainya 4,2,3,4 locomotive or a new york central niagra but sadly none exist today rest in peice you wonderful peaces of machinery
