Few facts He missed about this movie: 1] Red Demon Child is actually The Monkey's rival's child. 2] This movie is actually the 3rd installment in the series, the 1st one is about the Monkey's back story and how he destroyed heaven, the 2nd one is about how the Monk met all his disciples and how his lover died

I love the idea of a demon, a creature depicted to present evil and suffering, saves mortals from a deity, which are meant to represent purity and perfection

The translation isn't that accurate. The deities are merely "servants of heaven", and what is called demon here is more like a powerful spirit, or what Arabs call a djinn.

The monk became enlightened just like buddha but buddha was enlightened long long ago, the first buddha already transcended to higher realms

not really. its a movie about Wukong and his stories in Buddhism. so none of this is trying to be IRL so physics only apply where they should and everything else is magic or otherwise.

This movie makes some really interesting changes and re imaginings to the lore. Pretty sure I've seen other versions of monkey king where he's stated to be a stone monkey so this fits. And Wujing being a fish is an interesting addition to his established amphbiousness

7:13 a mistake here. The demon is not Nezha, but Hong Hai Er (Little Red Boy). Nezha lives in heaven in the book with his father and is not a demon, while Hong Hai Er is son to the Bull King Demon.

Nezha is actually a heavenly warrior, not a demon. He does fight Wukong, but he does not not look like a tennis ball with springs. This movie destroys everything about the Journey to the West. I think they're talking about Hong Hai, the Red Child, whose power is to breathe fire.

If nobody has ever seen the 1st movie of this go back and watch the 1st journey to the West to understand this one because it's an amazing movie and this is an amazing Sequel I actually Bought both of them on DVD after i first seen first journey to the west. I love movies like this that are basically gems that never make it to the big screen in United States because there are some absolute gems out there. And the monkey king is astoundingly awesome in this movie
