I swear every time I watch one (many) of your videos and you “mess up” it makes me come back and watch more of your videos! You normalize woodworking, the process, and show hey you may mess up and your plans may not come out as you first want them but you still go for it! THANK YOU!!! It truly helps me especially as a beginner!

It's actually realistic and when you realize it happens to professionals it doesn't make the average DIYer feel like such a failure as I do after watching all of the highly edited (basically fake) videos.

My grandfather always said Never judge a carpenter by his mistakes but by how the carpenter fixes the mistakes. Great video my wife wanted the same thing on her pantry, turns out we are now building a house around the pantry she wanted. So much for my 300.00 budget.😢

Love the butler's pantry. It was an old fabulous feature that a lot of remodelers were tearing out of older homes and not putting them in with new construction. So glad to see it back in again. Looks good with a modern finish. Fun video. Thanks for sharing the project!

We have a pantry in between the kitchen and the dining room - it's got sink, coffee station, junk drawers, and dishes. First kitchen designer wanted to tear it out to increase the already big kitchen! I like older houses bc each room and space has a purpose rather than one big catch all (ahem open floor plan).

Two seconds in...that's what she said. Great work. Love that you show the mistakes and frustrations that even experienced DIYers like yourself still make. Most KZfaqrs don't show that and make it seem like everything goes perfectly the first time. Also going forward it would be interesting if you could add in, along with the price breakdown, the number of hours you spent working on each project.

I love that you show the mistakes and challenges - the running out of room on the table saw is a prob I have as well. But the results were beautiful and functional! Great job!

For those tile cuts with the grinder, tape the square first and go slow and easy. You can get real stone counters for about $100 just by going to a granite and stone supplier and buying remnants from them for small projects like this.

Just found you this evening as I was taking a break from my project. I'm converting a hall closet into a pantry and I'm ticked off at the irregular walls. Seeing you show us that nothing is regularly sized calms me down. I'm using free shelves, $3 fir strips, a cheap Harbor Freight drill, and a jig saw to do this. I was concerned about the water lines in one of the walls but my house is old so doubt I can poke a hole in those metal water lines. BTW, I'm a single, 62-year-old female DIY'er who loves watching brilliant people creating stuff on YT. Thank you for posting!!
@Feejer1

Good build. Although not part of the original plan, I would have put in a water line/spigot for the coffee and tea machines since you already had the wall opened up due to the unforeseen waterline issue. Not a big deal since it wasn't part of the original design. I know it's not that far to the kitchen to get the water, but I would look for opportunities to kick it up a notch as long as it doesn't cost too much.

A job well done, but it looks like you had way more functional food storage *before* the remodel, and after it looked like less of a pantry and more like a kitchen with all of those drawers. Also, that tiny space will function a whole lot better if you installed a pocket door.

The problem in America, depending on where you live, is that many of us don't have easy access to a grocery store. Many of us, including our friend here, live in either traditional suburbs or planned communities, in either case grocery stores usually are not convenient to where we live so we have to drive, sometimes long distances, to reach the store, this is why American homes tend to have a lot of food stuffs on hand since it's easier to stock up once a week or so instead of making daily trips to a store.

Lots of great ideas in this video. I have a closet just off my kitchen that is a double closet rod deep. I've always used the back as a pantry because otherwise there would not be one (small kitchen). I don't like always having to dive behind coats and jackets but if I get a coat closet built by the front door, I could use the entire space as a pantry and then I could use many ideas presented in this video. I've also thought of using the idea of drawers in the staircase since it is also across a small hall from the kitchen.
