Hi Janvi I would't say MRCP is equivalent to MD as MD is a 3 year residency programme where as MRCP is a degree. I am making a video on MRCP vs MD soon. Please keep watching this space.

Hi, yes you can do MRCP without PLAB. Once you pass MRCP you would be able to apply for senior SHO or junior registrar level posts depending on your clinical experience,

Hi mam . For the date of PMQ , do we put the date of passing final year or the date on the medical degree certificate issued by the college . My date of passing final exam is 30.12.2019 and my PMQ was issued on 11.12.2021 . I understand we would have to email the MBBS degree certificate as the PMQ so which date would be the right one to put for me?

I heard that if you go to the uk through plab route, pass the mrcp there in the uk then it’s easier in getting training post in the desired speciality rather than directly going through the mrcp route ! Please clear this confusion

Hi This is true if you do IMT training which then makes it easier to achieve the required competencies for ST application.

Hi Zahid You have to have one year clinical experience to be able to apply so internship is mandatory to be eligible.

Hi Francis Many thanks for watching.Apologies if this has created any confusion. This slide is a guide for ideal time to attempt the MRCP exam.For part 1 it's best to take this within the first two years of MBBS when the knowledge on basic sciences is still fresh in the candidate's minds. Without doubt,MRCP is one of the most versatile exams and can be done at any age.

I have a little confusion You mean to Say to appear for MRCP part 2 and Paces One only need to pass MRCP-1..thats it… Having 2 years clinical experience is desirable as it helps alot but its not necessary for appearing in mrcp 2 and paces

Hi Yasir As mentioned here, two years clinical experience is not mandatory but it is strongly recommended before appearing for PACES.

Hi Charitha This is a part of application so immediately after paying the exam fees. Your application is considered incomplete until you submit the PMQ.

Hi Vikas In order to apply for speciality training in Cardio, you would need to train in medicine like MD medicine or IMT or gain equivalent clinical experience in medicine.

Hi Vishruti For dermatology in the UK you have to undergo medicine training first, and complete MRCP. Following this you have to apply for speciality training in dermatology.

Hello ma’am…i have one doubt my medical school name is there on world directory of medical school but our university name had changed and on my degree we have the name of new university which is not available in the list of world directory of med schools….so what should i do?

Hi Kaustabh Are you currently working in any hospital? The clinical supervisor could be your head of the department or any senior colleague or consultant whom you are currently working with.

Hi Vanessa MRCP is for physician specialities like Medicine and critical care. For Gyaneocology, the royal college exam is MRCOG.

Hello mam, i am preparing to give MRCP Exam in nov. 2022 . During making mrcp account there is a one column that is date of issue (regarding this i have a query). I gave my final year MBBS exams on 06/06/2016 and my final exam result got declared on 28/07/2016 and i recieved PMQ on 20/01/2018. So my question is above-mentioned 3 dates which date should I fill in date of issue while making mrcp account. your help and guidance regarding this will be very helpful. Thanks and regards.

Hi Mehtab Entering speciality training like cardio . nehpro etc is quite competitive but if you work hard you will definitely be able to do this. It is essential to get NHS experience before ST training so it would be a good idea to work in the NHS in a non training job before ST application. All the best

Hi Linsha You can definitely pursue MRCP but please be aware that this will be beneficial only if you are thinking of switching your speciality from Emergency medicine to Internal Medicine.

Hi maam :) i have tried neet pg and i couldnt get a good score as it was very competitive. Im currently doing a 2 year fellowship in diabetology. Do u think that if i clear mrcp ..it would add to my degree and will it increase my work opportunities after the fellowship bcoz of mrcp degree..how useful is it for a candidate with diabetology fellowship🙏🏼

Hi Varun This is a very pertinent question.In my opinion,this would depend entirely on where you want to practice. For example in metro cities like Delhi, Kolkata which are very competetive , MD and DM would be a must where as in tier 2 or 3 cities that may not be necessary. Also, most importantly in order to pass MRCP you would need good clinical knowledge not only in Diabetes but in medicine overall. Finally, degrees are definitely a boost in your CV but it is ultimately your clinical knowledge and experience that would help you confidently manage any patient.
