Marth’s N-Air is stronger than his B-Air for some reason lol

I didn't know tipper Nair is a thing.

It hardly ever connects in practice if you watch Ignites sets.

Tipper NAir is arguably Marth's strongest setup and kill move at the same time. NAir1 on the tip has obscene hitstun and can setup for other aerials, a smash on descent, or into itself. NAir2 on the tip can kill as shown in the video, or just rack up good damage and increase the spacing even further. Low landing lag, multi-hit, amazing range, and is pretty quick. The amount of times I predicted a ledge mixup with NAair2 and got a low-commitment KO is more than I can remember. It's a fun move to use once you get used to Marth's floatiness.

@@zekkyauditore3021 not really, it has a 15% window for both hitboxes because dair has so much hitstun that you can manage to charge for a bit and still be true for the percent in which uncharged wont hit. Also execution its not that big of an issue tbh

Marth isn’t bad, he was never bad. He’s good at best and okay at worst IMO. He’s not high tier, but definitely not low tier like some people say he is.

Please stop deluding yourself and accept that Marth will only ever be at best a low to mid high tier. Ignaize has shown no reasons to think he will be a top level player and watching any of his sets against players of an equal or better skill level, the sheer lack of tippers he lands makes it pretty clear he would perform better by simply using Lucina.

But it is illogical to hope and wait for that to happen because of how unlikely it is. Just like it is illogical to hope and wait for a player that isn't even that good, who is using a character who isn't even that good, especially in comparison to his echo, to suddenly HARD carry said character to success at tournaments regularly. That is what would have to happen for Marth to be considered a top tier lol hence my analogy and emphasis on how unlikely it would be.

There's a reason why I said "maybe in smash 6" In Ultimate he has so much competition for what characters will take my time to learn them. Sephiroth is my main (many reasons why I loved Melee Marth, but even more reasons outside of that, and being a combination of many characters I love playing). Pichu is a secondary I want to get good at because they are so friggin adorable, and they target my weaknesses as a player. Then there's about 20 characters above Marth in the priority list. A big difference from Melee where only Link was giving Marth any troubles for any decent amount of time for who I wanted to main. Also currently learning Multiversus, and I dunno how long that'll take. I've been tempted to go back to Rivals to play more Elliana too since I didn't feel like I played enough to be content with how good I got in that game. I'm also being dragged by friends to do other games a bunch lately. Maybe Smash 6 though. Marth is at the top of the priority list of characters that seem impossible to cut when they cut the roster down. Still has to compete with half the smash 64 roster, and Inkling though. Also unlikely for all the characters of higher priority than Marth to be gone, but we'll see. I hope you do find a good training buddy though! I just know if I say yes, I actually wouldn't be able to properly train for like a month with how things have been going recently. Don't wanna waste your time = )

It's tough, especially when there's so many on-the-spot exchanges to worry about with 80 other characters now lmao but i believe you can do it!

Please do! People often overlook him because they believe exaggerated accounts of how inconsistent he is. He takes a little work, but eventually you'll land the really hard-hitters so consistently, you'll have no need for Lucina.

What is an objective fact though is that every single tier list by any top player for the past 4 years has had Lucina better than Marth and she is objectively FAR more popular than him and has objectively better results than him, the reason being that she is obviously better lol. It's not even about putting in a certain amount of effort. MkLeo of all people couldn't make Marth work, people have been maining him since the game came out and haven't done anything with him. Ignaize has been maining him for years and hasn't done anything notable with him. He simply isn't good enough in this game.

Lucina being more consistent isn't just simply she's "easier to play". She's more consistent because she racks up damage more consistently and simply kills more consistently, it's that simple. The clip montage above looks like its against low level players that are consistently picking poor defensive options or no options at all, it looks like some of them simply drop their controllers. Ignaize can't and won't improve enough to make Marth relevant, his level of skill is a very good local level player, not tournament level player and there's obviously nothing wrong with that.
