My car has 80k miles I got my oil changed two weeks ago and now I'm getting low oil light flashing and low oil on dipstick. Is possible for oil to burn this fast? Is it possible shop did not put enough oil?

I keep getting this on my mk6 gli despite having plenty of oil. Any ideas how to get it to reset?

@@jakedavis5181 hold down the Odo reset button, hit the ignition with the foot off the brake then release the button. That lets you reset the button

I’ve got this same exact issue at 26,800 miles. I added oil but the engine temp continued to rise to 215*F. If it doesn’t get fixed in the next few days at the dealer, I’ll have to try something else.

My 2020 Jetta SE 1.4T regularly sees oil temps of 225F. Once it got up to 232F. It’s normal. Some people on the VW forums have seen higher. No need to worry about 215F.

Taylor Melancholy I personally used pennzoil sae 0w-20. Only was 10$ a local auto store

The manual can tell you the preferred oil type. Mine says Castrol 5w-30 for the 2019 r line. When the light comes on, you are about a quart low.

You need to add a quart of 0W20 508.00 right now! Don’t run these engines low on oil. Check it weekly. Oil is especially important in this engine setup because it’s a small 1.4T with lots of boost which means heat and heat degrades oil.

I had this at 7k miles. I topped it off. Is engine damaged from low oil or only low oil pressure?

@@kenmastersmaster As long as you added oil immediately after the light came on, ie you drove to the store and bought a quart of oil and topped it off, then you are fine. There’s a reason why they have the low oil light. It’s so you don’t ruin the engine running it low on oil. VW’s EA888 turbocharged motors are notorious for consuming oil and almost every MK7 Jetta with the 1.4T engine I’ve seen has run low on oil between 6k and 9k miles. I would run 5k mile oil change intervals just to be safe, but that’s just mho. If not, just top the oil off every 5k miles. Oil changes are cheap compared to an engine replacement.

@@tomdolgin5441 I wonder why VW has 10k Mile OCI knowing they get low on oil early and they would have to warrant an engine replacement. Doesn't make sense

If you need to be shown how to check your oil, and you've run your car to the point there's barely any oil left at the bottom of the dip stick, you have no business owning a car...
