This is Amphibia my Swamp Simulation Part 2. In this video I did 100 days of growing and recording the evolution of My water dog AKA redneck Axolotl. His journey into a tiger salamander has been fun to watch and I cant wait to see him get his yellow stripes. This series started with 100 days in the desert and will end with the Grand Canyon. I will then recreate earth from start to finish in a 10 episode series of the evolution of earth and animals. its going to be amazing!

Sry man to say this but isnt this kinda sad for those animals? They are in bad conditions in that tank. You keep animals that live in totally different conditions with each other. While they will also murder eachother

I can imagine crush being the sole survivor of the changing environment. A relic who’s past his time. The river that carved out the grand canyon is still there in real life most likely acting as a life saving source of water to anything that can reach it.

Awe, the way I started getting mad about the water trickle ending, and the 40 day water drop. So entertaining, and infuriating at once. The twins messing with crush, a fan favorite... This is entertainment for bio dorks, fish nerds, repti-geeks, and aquaponic players.

Fun fact. If water quality isn’t good the axalotal is known to shed gills . It is not evolution it’s escape . It not ment to happen and axolotos need cold water

@@noexcuses5524 I highly doubt he will kill any of the animals. Also, Morpheus is not an axolotl, but rather a tiger salamander. They are not close to extinction, though I agree it would be sad if he died.

This is the worst combinatiom i have seen in a good tank for a long time. The crayfish will eat the gills of the salamanders. The salamanders need cold water while the lizard needs warmer temperatures. Why keep turtles that bite everything with salamanders? Also dont those turtles get way to big.

Also that catfish isnt that a bullhead? Mine is around 30cm. I hope it is not but otherwise please put him in a pond or a 1000 liter aquarium

And your crayfish already almost killed a turtle.. when those turtles get a bit bigger they will murder everything in those waters

Salamanders main food in the wild is cray fish. These are wild caught salamanders I rescued from a bait shop. The water is cold I have a chiller on it while the land portion is temp regulated to suit the lizard. Also it’s a channel catfish. Still gets big and it won’t stay in the tank. I have a big pond that the turtles will go into this spring. I’m recreating nature in it’s true form. With the exception of the lizard all these animals live together in the wild. And they all get along. Nobody has been hurt and no gills have been eaten lol

@@MrHillbilly what you said is true but what the other person said is also true I'm glad that you're keeping the snapper in a pond eventually but it should really be separate from the rest of the critters for now The crayfish is really cool and all but it can attack salamanders. Your tanks are amazing because they create nature in a box however even in the process there should always be an effort to avoid keeping species that naturally fight against each other together. The tank is great don't get me wrong but you really should keep the animals separate for the most part. This goes for only the highly agressive species though.

I love what you’re doing here! I’ve always wanted to do a mixed species vivarium but always procrastinated it because pretty much everyone in the reptile/invertebrate pet keeping hobby swears against it, like it’s a major taboo or something. Glad to see you doing it with such great results!

@@MrHillbilly Please don’t let them stop you. It’s seems like you’ve picked species well enough that everyone has their own place, and falls into their respective “rank” naturally. I have a pretty interesting plan I hope to have the time/space to do one day.. build my own enclosure like 6’ long or more, dry hot desert environment on one side, hot humid rainforest on the other side, a cool temperate lightly planted middle like a Midwest forest, with a “river” running through all three biomes, and fill it with as many different species that can coexist with out overcrowding as I can. (This woouulld make for a really awesome video if you think it’s doable. Pretty much just telling you so that I have a chance of seeing it done 😅)

mixed species is very VERY difficult my man. In just some months the snapping turtle will outgrow damn near everything and pose a major risk to every animal in that tank.

Nice! I have four tiger salamanders that showed up in a mostly dry swimming pool...all kinds of critters fall or walk in but can't get out bcuz of the tile lip; so I also have snakes, tarantulas, pinacate beetles, water bugs...good thing I am a school teacher with a place to keep all these things. I appreciate your story telling-I think it will inspire my students to tell stories too.

I want to… but to be honest nobody watches the long videos as much as they do the shorter 8 min videos. Strategically shorter videos leaving people wanting more is the better choice than longer videos people skip through half the video leaving the algorithm to toss it in the trash… if more people watched the whole video I would make longer videos and it would take 4 months to make each video. Leaving me making 3-4 videos a year… or a make series like I am doing. They all tie together like a tv show. And I have some amazing ideas in the works. I just needed to see what works and what doesn’t so I don’t waste my time making a shitty video. I appreciate the advice and maybe someday our attention span will increase and I can make longer videos! 🤙🏻
